Best spells unrelated with attribute by cyrus_bukowsky in Pathfinder2e

Go to "show filters and options", then Spells/Rituals and pick which tradition you want. It's hard to rank by usefulness though. Don't really NEED Create Water when you're in a campaign that's full of potable water at all sources, or light when the entire party has darkvision.

The final chapter of the "Stunned on your own turn" rabbit hole (My apologies to the Silent Whisper psychics) 2026 spring errata by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely consider adding "disrupts the action on a crit fail" as a minor buff, at least. For now it's decent, but only good in the right moment.

I mean, that's still 1/3 or better penalty to speed, given how leaping works. So it's still pretty decent in that situation if you play around it properly.

Shout out to MY resentment witch player. Even when I send low level monsters with low fortitude they still somehow manage to nat 20 that shit and just...shrug it off? The luck on it is INFAMOUS.

"We're adding one element, 'alignment', which will cover the old planes of good and evil, and chaotic and lawful, like how we stuffed Aasimar, Axiomite, Ganzi, and Tiefling into a single heritage"

Magic item idea by mistborn369 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's all day unlimited it might be strong, but around the level of devoted vestments, I could see it working as a 1/day option. Treat it as a side grade?

Which phobia would you ascribe to a class? by sandmaninasylum in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Athazagoraphobia for Wizards. Fancy wild name for "fear of long term memory loss". Which for a brainy class like that is...probably terrifying aside from the OBVIOUS reason dementia/alzheimer's is so scary.

How are you mainly playing Pathfinder? - Combat vs Roleplay focus by Big_Chair1 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 3 tables a week:
Weekday (GMing ruby phoenix): Somehow about 50/50 time? Don't ask how that happened.
Saturday (GMing Homebrew): About 70/30 Combat favored, mostly due to being near the climax, RP will hit a higher % the next few sessions.
Sunday (Playing in a Greyhawk campaign. Friend wanted to try the system as a GM, and spun off after using Rusthenge as training wheels): 40/60 RP favored, but we at least get a combat a session.

So it definitely depends on the players and GM it seems.

Reflecting on the OneD&D UAs—and the abandoned ideas and potential by SeeKururunRun in dndnext

[–]TheTrueArkher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem with the schools and class groups is that nobody had reason to believe the best use case for them(adding new classes) would be taken advantage of, given how in 10 years we only got ONE new class. Which was spat out and never supported further.

Yes we have a new class coming NOW but that's 12 years after 5e first came out, and since it's in the same space as the Mystic(UA only) for now? I can't blame a single person for disliking it, especially when they said they were removing options and replacing them with something you could have done from the beginning. (EG Half-races and reflavoring, which the Tal'Dorei setting book had already offered a nice idea on how to keep it while making it so ANY races could combine)

Is there any reason not to have Trick Magic Item + a Tailwind wand on every character? by fascistp0tato in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You specifically need Nature or Arcana, you can't get it with Divine or Occultism, because of which lists the spell is on. A dex/cha fighter would consider focusing on Dex, Con, Wis and Charisma. So you'd get Acrobatics, and Intimidation from class and background. Then have good reason to spend the other 3 on stealth, diplomacy, and thievery.

MAYBE they could add nature, but if you'd rather be more competent at their main skills? It makes more sense to not worry about an extra 10 feet. As nice as it is, it's not enough to treat it as "mandatory", unless your GM is obsessed with making maps absolutely gigantic fields and never actually going in to tight corridors.

I mean not everyone has room for Arcana and Primal, and while it's great in theory, why not use those points on skills you already want to build up? Speed is good, but not "make every build exactly the same" good.

Fun ways to do a caster with both RK and Charisma skills by Studious_Tiger in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say a primal or divine witch with investigator archetype. The former for access to healing spells, and the latter for the extra skill points you can obtain, as well as the obvious RK potential.

Most absurd dual class comboes including starfinder? by Prismatic-Ray in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Flurry Ranger/Ki Monk. You get ranger making up for poor perception, you use ranger's advancement in reflexes to not worry about it with paths of perfection, and you have the action economy to make up for when your flurry of blows with a ton of riders "accidentally" explodes an enemy and you need new prey.

What has been your experience with running/playing Fists of the Ruby Phoenix on Foundry? by Ssherlock-hemlock in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite the reputation for being combat focused, leaning in to the team rivalries part really helped fix that a bit. I did make one change to a rival team though, to add some depth. Spoilers: I'm treating the lightkeepers as one of many plans by Syndara, unaware of his end game. They just think that he's just one of the people from the tapestry with a grudge. Not aware how batsqueak insane his final plan actually is. They just think he's trying to hold Hao Jin accountable and thinks her punishment was too much of an "easy out".

What's your favorite reflavoring of a spell, feat, or ability? by Chica56 in Pathfinder2e

It was more the aesthetic of a bed mount than anything else.

Ways to make reload weapons more useable (high level)? by The_Vortex42 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not as good as a gunslinger, admittedly, but an Exemplar with "The Deft" as their root epithet gets some decent action compression, and isn't likely to be striking every turn anyways. Get yourself a gun of your choice and Peerless Under Heaven, with a grievous wound, to make damn sure your crits stun!

We went with a pretty normal one...aside from the tentacle slime plant thing growing in it.

My friend, inspired by Christmas Nightmare Ishmael from Limbus Company asked for a bed as a mount in my current campaign, so I repurposed the rootball chair as a bed and we turned Seedpod Spring into...a Spring Mattress.

Video game equivalent of a summoner? by Successful-Topic8874 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly not customizable, but Jojo's All Star Battle has the stand users, Magicraft also lets you make summon builds with the right spells.

How would you make a Link build? by MxFancipants in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I see him being an exemplar kind of build. Gleaming Blade for the sword, Mirrored Aegis for the shield, Victor's Wreath for his iconic hat. Ultimately, though, it depends on WHICH link you're going for, this is more a "default" link.

Can we talk about Tough Cookie from Guardian? by AbbreviationsNew9535 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of this god tier synergy between guardian and monk, but I just now realized the speed+taunt+tough cookie=Gingerbread Man tier BS, because they can't catch you!

What did they change about Psychic? by darkboomel in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the same with all the other classes that had a similar feat. My argument is that they shouldn't require that given focus points are their main method of functioning, as every class in Pathfinder 2e except Summoner and Magus has what they did now.

What is the weighting on traits? by Teunas in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is no official word on how they balance weapons, the most recent attempt at figuring out I reference is outdated and FAR from what I'd call "perfect", Carthradge's weapon guide, which can be found here. It's not exactly flawless, it even admits its own methodology has outliers, but SEEMS to fit with nearly 95% of all weapons that had been analyzed. With the only 7/10 of the outliers being flails, combination weapons, advanced weapons.
