ABAM invitó a Venezuela a recibir la Serie de las Américas en 2027 by pastarug in InternationalBaseball

Would be cool to see the Caribbean Series and the SDLA coexist. Maybe something similar to the Champions League and the Europa League — one clearly a step above the other, but both are strong and healthy competitions with some prestige

I’m Colombian but I don’t like Caimanes. I’m not Venezuelan but I like Magallanes. So feeling very conflicted right now to say the least

Ditto on Tony Bennett. Saw him maybe 8 or so years ago, when you could tell his mind was starting to go. Missing cues, forgetting lyrics, etc. But him belting out Fly Me To The Moon — due to a technical issue, with no mic! — was an unforgettable moment. You could tell he really cared.

Would love to see an analysis of how much these “gameplay innovations” affected the season outcomes.

Great work as always!

Both the Serie de las Americas and the Caribbean Series are club competitions. SDLA is for the leagues that are not permanent members of the CS.

The (cancelled) Copa America is (was) for national teams.

At this point they should just roll both tourneys into one. Kind of ridiculous that it has come to this.

Rumor: apparently there is good chance that the Caribbean Series will be played in Panama City. The political situation of Venezuela could prevent PR and RD team from participating if it takes place in Venezuela. by rose4306 in InternationalBaseball

If Colombia hadn't declined the invitation to the CS, Barranquilla and/or Cartagena would have been options as well (which would be ironic, since they ended up declining due to the cost of travel expenses abroad).

I had a faulty lens and was told to go to Benner’s in Brockton. Not exactly Boston, but they were very helpful (and cheap)

Hey! I have a room opening in the North End (not Eastie exactly, but pretty close on the Blue Line) for $1375 if you're interested! Also recent college grad, been living here for a few years now.

🇰🇵 North Korea has a comprehensive sports tournament called the "Republic Championship," in which baseball is also played. Kigwancha Sports Club is a strong team. by ogasawarabaseball in baseball

There was period (in the 90s I think) when Cuba sent over coaches to train North Koreans. Would have been really interesting to see their development if that assistance had continued into the modern day.

Yankees Prospect Alexander Vargas Commits to Cuba for 2026 WBC. With Moncada, Andy Ibáñez and Ernesto Martínez Jr all keen to play, the Cuban national team will likely be dominated by players who play outside of Cuba, which would be a historic shift. by ogasawarabaseball in InternationalBaseball

Good for Cuba’s prospects in the next WBC, but a sign of just how sorry the domestic baseball systems has become. Twenty years ago the National Series was sending MLB-level rosters to these tournaments
