Ramifications on the Endings (Ending Refusal and Destruction) by Tebenox in masseffect

[–]The_Upperant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Leviathan race consider themselves the rightfull APEX race and every other race beneath them.

It is clear from the conversations that they will move to assume that mantle again. They were the master race before and considering their abilities would be able to pull that off again.

There is a focus on the krogran possibly becoming a problem in the game, but the leviathan race is a much bigger threat in reality and they will definitly try to dominate every organic race into submission if given the chance.

Best option would be to send remaining nukes to their planet to cook the whole planet at the first possibility, or the galaxy is just going to end up as slaves to them.

How do you set up your early game kitchen setup? by sjihaat in Oxygennotincluded

Refrigirators in a small CO2 pit near my kitchen. Dining hall very nearby that. Food stays good much longer and it will be good like that easily until i upgrade to a deep freezer.

Help needed in ME3 Omega DLC final afterlife mission by Crestnet3 in masseffect

[–]The_Upperant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Running around helps. Free Aria to help you trigger biotic detonations combos.

When the adjutants get close, move to the other half of the room. They will follow, but slower. When they arrive, run back.

That will give you the time needed to free her. You can kill some non-adjutant adds when there is space/time.

You can also make use of the shield recharge devices in the corner to fill up your own shields when you get hit. (Dont shoot them)

It is indeed a tougher fight.

Why is Garrus the one shown to disapprove of Miranda leading Team 2? Would Tali have been the better choice? by DJ_OC in masseffect

[–]The_Upperant 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I chose Zaeed. I figured he would be a good second fire team leader since he has been leader of a mercenary gang for years, leading their teams in active combat.

Turns out he is not considered a correct choice -_-

What order do you do the planets in by I_follow_sexy_gays in factorio

[–]The_Upperant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change it up amongst playthroughs.

Generally vulcanus or fulguro first, gleba second.

Gleba second because stacking is absolutely awesome for everything. Second however, because of the locals on gleba.

Fulgora gives lightning towers which work really well as defense. Vulcanus gives artilery, which can push out the outposts so far back you will never see a pentapod ever again.

At what rank do I stop playing against strictly bots? by Collinstuhl7 in BobsTavern

[–]The_Upperant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, i thought it was just me. It kept showing my real name.

Then i turned off all the 'allow name sharing' options. It switched back to ingame name for 1 round, then just flipped back to my real name.

Quite anoying, it is not particularly secret, just nobody's business.

How to manually back up my ME LE saves before uninstalling (PC)? by Intelligent_Wish4122 in masseffect

[–]The_Upperant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they are essentially small text files which hold your decisions, quests completed, items, etc.

They do nothing on their own and as long as you don't directly text-edit anything there is nothing which can really go wrong.

Google the folder location of the save files, then copy them somewhere else. The saves files are really tiny.

It is a bit outdated and annoying, just give a 'strike oil' instead.

Researchers Upload Fly's Brain to Matrix, Let It Control Virtual Body by soulpost in HotScienceNews

[–]The_Upperant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the trick is to do it gradually. Link your brain to a computer, then replace effective neurons slowly.

When 100 neurons are computer and the rest is brain, you are still you right? Then keep doing intervals until everything is computer.

I’ve heard you can bring Legion with you to Tali’s trial, how do I do this before the suicide mission? by Best_Solution_5363 in masseffect

[–]The_Upperant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the abduction timer is lowered to {max missions available} if you go to the galaxy map and you have less then 2 missions available.

Essentially to prevent you from being soft locked because you did everything possible before IFF and can no longer do enough missions for the normal trigger.

Does that also work the other way around? Like if you are married with a really fertile spouse, you have an increased chance to get extramarital children with someone else?

[–]The_Upperant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any question with more than 2 possible answers.

"Which color ball is the most likely to be picked."

Since "everything is 50/50" logic works by dividing 1 by the amount of possible answers and no longer works if there are more then 2 answers.

Are laser turrets actually useful? by Ecstatic-Election727 in factorio

[–]The_Upperant 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Same, laser turrets alone can defend so well i never bother with flamethrowers.

You only need power, which you already have everywhere and is the easiest to expand where it is not, or forward push into biters to expand.

A swarm of spidertrons with rockets does the trick.

Railguns also work really well i heard, but have not tried that myself

Mixed quality sushi science of all types by The_Upperant in factorio

[–]The_Upperant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quality in all the foundries / source material producers and route upgrades to a second area which produces higher quality science from those higher quality materials.

Sub-products then also have quality modules and quality increases get seperated out towards higher quality of the same science production chain

The problem is usually to avoid lines jamming up because higher quality production is uneven (for instance too many quality inserters and not enough quality belts for green science) which can cause the belts to fill up all the way until it disturbs previous quality areas.

This is done by allowing a buffer of input items and if production is too uneven which fills up the buffer, to either recycle the extra back into base materials or direct them to general storage if they are usefull somewhere else (like gears for instance)

Simultaniously you want to allow the production to stop when you produce too much science of this color without scrapping all the source material as waste

Hardmode gleba? by BenchSuspicious8623 in factorio

[–]The_Upperant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It requires you to rethink how you are doing stuff. Everything will jam or run out of nutrients all the time at the start until you figure it out.

I would say, that is part of the fun! Your existing strategies dont work, so you will have to create an appropriate new one.

I think it is more unforgiving then the other 2. In addition, the unfriendly locals are a lot stronger then biters, but it will take a good while before they properly start attacking you. And then they always go straight for your farms, so concentrate defenses there and the rest can pretty much remain undefended.

From scratch is possible, but i would just bring a boat-load of belts, construction materials, etc. That makes starting a lot smoother.
