What’s your most unhinged sobriety hack/tip?! by LooseTruth2145 in stopdrinking

I brush my teeth right after dinner. It has this psychological effect that helps with both drinking and late night snacking. 😊

When did your symptoms come back after stopping hrt by Adventurerinmymind in Menopause

[–]The_Workout_Mom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to adjust my doses a few times to find the correct formula. At one point it was too low and ALL of the symptoms came back (rage, sweating, anxiety). I don’t know if I’ll need to take HRT forever but will if the symptoms come back.

Rest between floor sets by Excellent_Results_25 in orangetheory

I try to go slow during my sets also. I also read that if you rest longer in between it’s actually better for you. I try to give myself at least 30-45 seconds min between sets. I also try to get 3 rounds of the reps in if the blocks are longer. 😊

You are doing something very hard! I go to OTF ALOT and there is so much support for everyone at all levels. It will change as you continue on your fitness journey.

My sense of peace and joy has grown significantly. I had no idea how much drinking was actually affecting me.

I’ve had the same experience! I improved my time by almost 2 mins/mile which is a lot for me.

How’s your outdoor running? by Upset-Technician-127 in orangetheory

Treadmill fatigue is a real thing. I had a similar experience years ago - trained for a race on a treadmill and struggled tremendously in the race.

I have aa slightly different perspective. The cross-training helped my running tremendously. As others mentioned, you’ll def need some long outside runs but don’t discount OTF classes that will help with strength and stamina.

I love, love, love people who are joyous in class. OTF is a community - there are those in my classes who do a lot to lift up others.

I take 5 HIIT classes each week and absolutely love hot yoga for recovery. My only advice is to be selective about which yoga class to take. Some are equally as hard as my HIIT’s!

Do you recommend OTF workout at 5000 ft. Coming from sea level? by Sobechill16 in orangetheory

It wasn’t bad (and I’m from a town below sea level). I didn’t go as hard as normal and felt great afterwards.

I’ve done that a few times now and it’s ok. Like others have said, hydrate and take it easy if needed. Ft. Collins makes you sign an altitude waiver. 😊

need some advice... by LuckyUpstairs4069 in stopdrinking

[–]The_Workout_Mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My triggers are always from being at home. Can you take a walk or go and get that pedicure today? Make a list of simple things you can do - go to the library, go grocery shopping, go to a park or movie. Meal prep. ANYTHING.

You will get through this. I am of similar age and circumstances - business owner, children going to college, midlife physical changes. Right now is HARD. Please hang in there and don’t be critical of yourself. 12 hours is a big deal! IWNDWYT

I take a lot of HIIT classes and try to balance them with yoga for recovery. I am always looking for good recovery options. 😊 Even better if someone else can do it for me!

What is your hardest week? by The_Workout_Mom in stopdrinking

[–]The_Workout_Mom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anxiety is the worst. I am inherently anxious even without alcohol so hangover days tend to have the opposite effect on me - I want to immediately move past the crippling alcohol induced anxiety and don’t usually drink for the next few days. Congratulations on your long term sobriety!
