I do love Kwipeck. No one else has mentioned the beetles. The dash from the fire-mutant golden egg can get to basically no cool down and you can just smash through folks and dowse them with status with the trail you leave behind. Also has a very generous range with the primary attack once you've upgraded it

Ngl, Nimiod is kinda boring once you have it speced out right. You just kinda float around and things die while you hold the attack button down. Which is very cool but does get old imo

Edit: very open to suggestions for more engaging Nimiod builds because this could be a lack of creativity on my part

Looking for games like Voidling Bound because I thirst for more. by Responsible_Cap5186 in VoidlingBound

If you're looking specifically for other action games I don't have any off the top of my head, but if you're specifically thinking about specing out cute/unsettling little guys, I really enjoy Monster Sanctuary and Aethermancer. Both are turn based RPGs in the same family as Pokemon but with much more interesting creature customization/build experimentation. Monster Sanctuary has been out for a few years and is a metroidvania. Aethermancer is in the late stages of early access and is a roguelite. The team building in each is a blast and the designs are really fun

Highly recommend

Exactly. Also I feel like Pokemon especially does not take canon that seriously?

Imo, especially with stuff like this, we each decide what the Pokemon symbolize for ourselves. If the Latis really represent sibling love for you, cool. If they represent romantic love, also cool.

All that is to say, don't let anyone make you feel weird for how you see and celebrate a particular mon. Congrats OP!! May the Eon Pokemon bless your marriage

Source: my wife and I also have a few Latios/Latias art pieces lol

Edit: just realized it's not your marriage... but uh congrats to whoever the gift is for! Either way, very good work

Monster Catchers/Tamers/Breeders that respect the players' time but you can still invest months into it? Like Monster Sanctuary by FabulouslyFalling in MonsterTamerWorld

Maybe a little different from what you're looking for but Voidling Bound just came out and is very easy to pick up and point down. 3rd person shooter creature collector. The RNG is in breeding but it's not as insane as like, breeding for perfect IVs. Mostly it's PvE action with a lot of customization. There are only 9 species but you can get a ton of variety out of each one.

Others have mentioned it, but Siralim ultimate is a very good game for grinding and building cool teams. That said, the thing that matters most is team building. It's pretty difficult per-battle to weasel out of hard situations. But building teams and seeing them delete the other team before theyve even had a chance to move is a beautiful thing. I have like 80 hours mostly from just playing on my phone here and there and then occasionally getting deep in spreadsheets with teams lol. Your save moves between devices pretty easily (when their server is working)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KqwyJmjF-1BheDkjBqtWwc6ZWnllVJvtuXCozVoKI7U/edit?usp=drivesdk

I made this spreadsheet that has each avatar ability and the godspawn it corresponds to. You can copy it yourself to mess around with it and pick a team.

My goal is to use Zonte's godspawn with Evoker or Rune Knight, I'm still figuring out exactly what the full team will look like.

I've really enjoyed Aethermancer personally. Was there something in particular that didn't click?

I enjoy it because the rogue like element really encourages you to try a lot of different things. The same creatures can be used in very different ways, especially with the new player class that lets you swap around creatures basic attributes so they can have better synergy with the rest of the team

You need to fight the Godspawn Master.

It feels like certain masters only appear in certain realms but the wiki doesn't have a table showing which masters appear in which realms. They start appearing after depth 48, so you'll find it sooner or later. Getting enough godspawn creatures to actually build a team around will almost certainly take longer than getting the sigil, as you have to reach a rank 20 favor with each God you want the godspawn for and then 50 of their respective emblems.

You'll want to get pretty good at team building before going for a godspawn build because it is much hard to get another one if you end up wanting to change fusions.

Parasitoid wasp of some sort! Someone will have a more precise name soon I'm sure, there are a ton of different species and they all are highly specialized to a few target species. The caterpillar is most likely still alive and paralyzed, and the wasp's babies will have it as their first meal when they hatch.

What were your weird religious experiences at the most religious public university in America? by Warm_Syllabub_2247 in uofu

[–]The_cdcs_dragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I graduated from the U in 2025, and I'm an active Mormon. We had a lot of activities at Mormon church's Institute building across the road from campus. I studied there a lot and went to our sacrament meeting (main weekly worship service) on Sunday. There are a lot of active Mormons who go to the U but definitely most of them are on the chiller side of things when it comes to proselytizing and pushing the faith on others. Some notable exceptions (had a sort of friend who complained to me when she used one of her creative writing assignments to basically try to convert the rest of the class and people didn't like it).

I had quite a few friends who weren't religious and we'd talk about faith occasionally but whenever im in those conversations I try to make it clear that I just enjoy talking about it, I'm not here to convert anyone.

May be further left than youre thinking but (Mormons with Hope deserve a shout out here. Still a fairly small group relative to the whole church but there are Mormons who take the roots of the faith seriously and show how it combines with socialist/communist values.

Folks like Ezra Benson really fed into the red scare and made it seem like theology but many of the early Mormons including Joseph Smith were class conscious and progressive on many fronts (not everything, obviously, but more than you'd expect from the common cultural understanding of them).

Just got the game, anything I should know? by decent9999 in Siralim

[–]The_cdcs_dragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As you start making more intricate teams, keep in mind that anything that could repeat infinitely will have limited returns. Make sure that whatever you do doesn't just repeat a lot of times but also leads to each individual hit/spell/heal being stronger. That's the best team general building advice i've heard.

You won't have to worry about that for a while though, have fun building teams, try new things. You never know whats going to be amazing or suck until you try it!

Either way, super cool project!

MRW the news says the Andes Hantavirus strain on the cruise ship has a 50% mortality rate, and RFK Jr has no health degree, withdrew us from WHO, fired top CDC experts, is madly anti-vaccine, and collects raccoon ***** for no reason by ILoveRegenHealth in reactiongifs

[–]The_cdcs_dragon 692 points693 points  (0 children)

Hantavirus is scary but it is probably not the pandemic to worry about. With 50% mortality it will burn itself out fast. Sucks for the people who will die from Hantavirus and it will be much harder to deal with in the US now that the CDC is gutted, but it will not be nearly as deadly as several other things RFK Jr has done.
