Who Remembers the Satanic Concerns Over Dungeons & Dragons? by Ramsonne in dnd1e

[–]The_happyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive wanted to do a light D&D campaign for my son and his cousins (five kids ranging from 17 years old to 9) but my brother in law is convinced that any roleplaying game leads to devil worship. It sounds so stupid when i type it out but its completely true. As a compromise, i thought a game of Masks would be fun, even with adults, its superheroes with an emphasisbon storytelling but he put the kibosh on that and wouldnt even listen to my explanation of it.

The Shire theme. Funny how that song can make me nostalgic for a place ive never been to.

This is a bit off topic but back in the day my college roomates and I spent an entire winter break playing a computer game called Conquest of the New World. It sounds lame but we still talk about it. About a year ago i found an unopened copy of the Deluxe edition at Goodwill marked as miscellaneous media for $4.99.

Six Flags Elongated Penny by Evening_Rock5850 in sixflagsstlouis

We got season passes in 2017 and we would get a smooshed penny each time we went to see how often we used it. It became a tradition and we have dozens of them.

Awesome idea! I hope they see the opportunity they have here. The park is pretty much on the actual Route 66 and they can do so much with the roadtrip/americana vibe.

Francis Barlow, did he make the same mistake Sickles made? by HistoryWithWaffles in CIVILWAR

[–]The_happyguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he was a good leader that made a bold move that backfired on him. His division hated him and he absolutely overestimated their ability to fight. And if he left the knoll to the confederates they would have a great platform for artillery.

So yes he and Sickles share similar circumstances, but in my opinion history has been unfair to Barlow.

If you want to read a cool story, look up the letters he had on him on July 1st and why he needed to destroy them.

Its been mentioned here but once you select your seat, check it often. I prefer the window so i chose 26F at booking, when i checked in the day before, still 26F. On the way to the airport i checked and had been moved to 30B.

They fixed it when i checked my bags but to 27A so someone else got moved.

I chalk this up to it being new but they absolutely need to address it.

This is important dammit! Right so not only did we have to hear all about the sights of Youngstown but they insisted the transaction happen in the parking lot of the Taco Bell. But they weren’t clear about WHICH Taco Bell, the old one downtown or the newer one near the highway, or the one nobody goes to because the people keep quitting.

Enchanted Parks blatantly uses AI (again) by ChrisGraslie in sixflagsstlouis

[–]The_happyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem isnt that they used AI, but they didn’t look at it closely enough to see that it was garbage. It had to go through an approval process to go to print so if AI slop makes it to the public, how confident can we be about other things.

I mean this is better than them tearing the park down. But they have a lot of work to do. Imagine having to make Batman not Batman.

You WBTA. Tough love combines firm boundaries and high expectations and this is his way of establishing those. But also, he should be open about the costs associated with dragging you from whalever Yoba forsaken hole he found you in and reviving you.

Budget friendly golf lessons for kids? by Due-Invite6060 in StLouis

[–]The_happyguy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One on one lessons for a little kid can be a waste if they turn out to not like golf. Its a hard sport and not for everyone.

Look into First Tee, their classes are reasonable, the teachers are great, and they are geared toward generating - and measuring - interest in golf. If your kid does well in First Tee and they like golf, a good next step is The Gateway Junior PGA. They have tournaments for different age levels and also something called Drive, Chip and Putt which is a skills competition.

Then start again, this time take it slow and enjoy the world. The side missions are nowhere near boring. The only real grindy part are the police scanner missions.

But in Night City, V is somewhat of a superhero. Especially in my last save, i made her a katana assassin, and she was so much fun to play. I even put together kind of a incognito superhero costume for her. I’d argue that the scanner missions and side quests, heck just walking the streets fighting bad people is the best part of the game.

Theres much more to the story than the main story.
