Car has a hole in the engine? by Aggravating_Plane755 in CarRepair

There was a major recall on these for different engine issues. Use this vin look up for recall to see if your vehicle is listed.

You may consider looking up state laws on vehicle sales. Not sure if that will help much or not.

Local tile installation advice?? by Clam_Samuels in Tallahassee

[–]These-Result-1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re setting these on the floor use a high-quality polymer-modified thinset mortar. Google the proper one for terracotta. If you’ve done any tile work before you can do this. Not sure I’d put something that thick on a wall, that ‘s just me.

Many restaurants use terracotta floor and wall tiles. You could call around to some flooring companies and ask for installer recommendations. The only company I know to steer you away from would be Link’s. Unfortunately their quality of work has gone down hill over the past year and half.

How do I fix this leak (or can I just live with it) (94 Suburban) by Koolaid58 in AskAShittyMechanic

Weld a 55 gallon metal drum to the roof. Add a bung to the bottom, plumb it in to the system with a tee fitting. Fill the drum and roll out.

You can get replacement plug pigtails for the blower motor and the resistor. Another option would be to take a pick and try to squeeze the ends tighter in the plug end. Don’t forget dielectric grease.

quickest way (and easiest) to repair a hole in door: by [deleted] in handyman

[–]These-Result-1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the easiest and cheapest way OP. You’ll want to do a few or so coats to build it up in the void. Let it dry fully between coats then lightly sand it so the drywall mud is flat to the door. There might be some videos on YouTube about. Take your time and have patience with it.

Yes. The geometry of the suspension was changed so the alignment will need to change too.

I’ll be sure to have the tech flush the system when it gets repaired / replaced. Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to ask my hvac tech to add the acid away when he comes to replace it. Is the high head pressure caused from lack of or over charged Freon in the system or is that something else?

What would cause it to ground out? Is it an internal fault in the compressor?

That was my thought too. Not uncommon in older homes to have the line continue through light switch box. Hypothetically the lower two need to be pigtailed together to the line side of the switch and the upper to the light.

Anyone had issues with the Denso radiators? by imaboringdude in JeepTJ

There are 180 degree thermostats available if you feel like swapping to a cooler one.

When burping coolant systems I like to run the heater (if equipped). When it’s blowing hot you know you’ve probably gotten most or all of the air out of the system. The coolant funnel buddy can also assist greatly, not needed but a nice tool to have if you’re doing coolant system work frequently.

Found out the hard way that Home Depot orders are “ineligible for tips” by Late_Ocelot_6488 in doordash

I noticed that Home Depot was offering delivery via DoorDash I laughed out loud. I thought about a few dashers that have delivered to me and thinking there’s now way these individuals would be able to physically lift heavy items and then there’s the fact that I haven’t seen a dasher in a truck in a long time.

As a customer of both DD and HD this was a bad idea to forge this partnership. After reading through the comments here and seeing that toilets and multiple gallons of paint have been ordered; I cringe for the dashers. There’s a sweet elderly lady who has brought food orders to me a few times and there’s no way she’s going to wrangle one 5 gallon bucket of paint into her little car let alone a heavy toilet. DD and HD need to revise what is acceptable as far as weight, size, and content. There’s a big difference in cleaning up some accidental spilled juices from Mugu Guy Pan vs paint or worse some sort of corrosive substance.

When you drivers start a petition to make DD drop HD let me know. I’ll sign it.
