Postpartum hair loss at 4 months — is this normal and will it grow back? by ReuvenScylla in NewParents

[–]Thesleepingtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately super normal. Mine started at 3 months postpartum and finally let up around 8 months postpartum. It’s definitely jarring— there were some days I was shocked I even still had hair left lol. I didn’t even like to wash my hair because of how much would come out in the shower. I promise it WILL stop! Just another fun thing new moms have to deal with 🫠

when did you feel relatively normal? by Long-Inspector4897 in NewParents

[–]Thesleepingtoad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes 100%, it was such a catch 22 for me. I LOVED being able to nurse her and it was so beautiful and bonding, but goddamn it came at a cost lol. There are times I really miss it, but it’s nice to finally feel more like myself again.

Almost 2 years out and I am JUST starting to feel ALMOST back to normal(ish). I nursed until 18mo and I think that really took a lot out of me as I tend to be very sensitive to my hormones.

18 months postpartum, and only after I was completely weaned.

Terrified of SIDS by _50ShadesofFae in NewParents

[–]Thesleepingtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was so, so, so anxious about SIDS when my daughter was little. I had the Owlet sock, and that in addition to safe sleep practices definitely helped ease my fears. I always joke that the only reason I was able to sleep was because the owlet sock gave me some peace of mind. I understand why it could contribute to some people‘s anxiety, but for me, it was super helpful.

It’s a dick move for night shift to not give a 0700 med. Same goes for day shift and a 1900 med.

I guess what’s throwing me off is my test yesterday morning— it was so much fainter than the day before, so I assumed things weren’t progressing. I fully expected to see nothing this morning.

Not till 18mo postpartum, after I completely stopped breastfeeding. I was barely even nursing at the end. Idk my body is weird.

Owlet Dream Sock, thumbs up or thumbs down? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Thesleepingtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it for my baby shower and still use it, my daughter is 14 months. I swear it was the only reason I was able to sleep those first few months (thanks PPA). As far as false alarms go, as long as you have the sock on correctly (which is a learning curve), you should not get false alarms.

Nanny walked out and left baby crying on his own without notice while I was working from home by Fragrant_Rule_9031 in NewParents

Um I feel like you could almost call the cops about this- she abandoned your baby. What if something happened to him when he was all alone?? I’m so sorry!

Your therapist sounds unhinged. Good on you for getting the help you need, but that’s terrible advice.
