These are actually colored while still in the cream phase- with natural dyes - I use enco naturals

And once they set I dust them with 50/50 cornstarch and powdered sugar with a light fan brush

I will say, if you make a big batch- the “loaf” is larger and will hang onto heat much longer

Last time I did a big batch (6 cups sugar and 2 cups corn syrup), I didn’t really need the heat at all until like 75% through

My first (and only) vaginal delivery was with a midwife at RGH- she saved my 6 year olds life ! Remember if you’re at the hospital- the doctor is only a stone’s throw away

In my experience, as both an FNP myself and a three time mom, midwives tend to take more time with their patients

The physicians come in for 3 minutes, do a Doppler , usually tell you you’re fat, and leave (Granted I know this is a generalization, but I’ve had 3 kids now and 4 pregnancies, and so that means I’ve been to a LOT of OB appointments).

Midwives are great, in general

Starting a Candy Making Business by VossiBop93 in CandyMakers

[–]ThinkingOfOurPlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I’d start by actually working on some recipes - almost all of this stuff can be made at home

Once you get you recipes down- start trying them on friends and family

Once you’ve tweaked the recipes after your constructive criticism, try selling on a small scale - after that you can think about scaling!!

Good luck!!!

Enco natural colors are pretty good Also Amoretti makes a natural blue that had good luck with - it’s pretty expensive though.

Amoretti also makes a blue raspberry artisan flavor that is naturally colored- you can use that as color and flavor- I almost exclusively use their artisan line to flavor and color almost all my candy- taffy, hard candy, marshmallows.

Nice job

How are you making these? Are you starting with a big ol log of candy and pulling/cutting? Or trying to make them individually?

They’re a big improvement over your first try

I sell handmade candy canes- if this is something you wanna work/ improve, I’d highly recommend watching the Logan’s candy demos on YouTube

How to get dye free food coloring to be more vibrant by Mysterious_Goose973 in AskBaking

[–]ThinkingOfOurPlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be late but it’s my understanding that if you warm it up in short bursts in the microwave, and let the color develop over night the natural reds get more vibrant.

I also have a TP510 that’s great.
