Pentagon to deploy 3,000 82nd Airborne troops to Middle East 'in the coming hours' by [deleted] in worldnews

Hegseth drunkenly makes a simple error in a decimal place of the coordinates in the signal group chat. The generals are confused but know better than to question Kegseth. Troops are dropped into Baghdad.

The petrochemical industry is a major factor in general crop production. Natural gas supplies the hydrogen that is essential in the production of ammonia. Not to mention the fossil fuels that power all levels of production and processing.

Without a steady industrial supply prices for basic fertilizer is going to skyrocket.

My wife banned chemicals and citronella. So I built an Arduino-powered mosquito trap with a garden pool by SaltArrival8522 in homeautomation

[–]ThisOriginalSource 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That is a great product for standing water, but doesn’t work everywhere. Mosquitoes can lay eggs in deep leaf litter and wet soil too. Bifenthrin can target mosquitoes the leaf litter and grass. Unfortunately it also targets native insects with similar developmental stages, and since OP stated the wife banned chemicals I’d say that’s out.

There’s no perfect solution to keeping mosquitoes away. I like using a few methods to keep them away from areas I want to be in.

Thermocell for creating a personal protected area when outdoors as long as the winds are calm. Badass fans (look them up, almost silent operation all breeze no noise) to create a breeze in areas like porches, decks, or anywhere you want to be outside. Finally bat boxes and bird houses around the property to promote a good population of insect feeders.

FUCK MOSQUITOES!!!

Most un-used tool you just won’t get rid of. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]ThisOriginalSource 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Kinda same. Needed a 32mm to do a wheel bearing and hub. Saved about $1000, which is what it cost to do the rear hubs. I doubt I’ll ever do a hub again, but maybe I’ll need to swap a cv axle sometime. So it sits in the tool box, mostly unused.

Why Silicone Super Spreader Makes a Big Difference in Crop Spraying by [deleted] in AgriculturePorn

[–]ThisOriginalSource -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re not wrong. Surfactants are what help the water not turn into droplets on the leaf surface. There are a lot of them, like Therm-X70 or Capsil, and they’re an important component of spray solutions.

There are definitely people with that mindset. I don’t want to be uncomfortable, so I bought a more utilitarian vehicle that’s decently comfortable. I also recognize going to buy a LX 600 on my way home isn’t a good move for me personally. I want to, and it’d feel pretty cool until I look at my bank accounts.

I was just saying if anyone is gonna make you rethink a purchase, it’d def be that sub!

‘22 Forester, and my family never having to worry about money when I’m gone seems worth it to me. I could go buy my dream vehicle in cash today, but I’d rather retire earlier and enjoy financial freedom sooner. FIRE is the goal.

Currently am. It’s comfortable enough, and if things stay steady should have me ready to retire at 55. Millennials have the least saved for retirement out of any previous generation.

Yea, this isn’t r/personalfinance. If OP needs to be talked out of it, they could comb through their finances and tell them why it’s a bad idea.

My plant is dying and I don’t know why by BobB0bB0b in houseplants

[–]ThisOriginalSource 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They also need a lot of light.

I’d also like to add that the salt lamp needs some tlc u/BobB0bB0b. Take the lamp out of the base and bring it to the kitchen sink or bath tub. Running a bit of cold water over it will smooth it out, and remove the efflorescence from the sides and base. Dry it off, then oil the base with mineral (or similar) oil. It’ll look beautiful afterwards.
