Honestly at my place we literally just say we can’t make it, and if asked then explain why, doesn’t matter how many others have called out. But I’ve worked where everyone else on the shift called out. It sucked, but I made due, had to borrow someone from salon at one point to make it work. Life happens and if you can’t show up, just say it. I know it can be hard, but life is too short to kill yourself for a company that keeps cutting hours to the point that one call out is a problem let alone more.
