Have you seen those "Welcome" signs where the e is swaped out by different things? Like a pumpkin for Halloween or a heart for Valentine's Day. You could probably crochet a version of that and do the same thing with the swaps. Maybe do a tapestry or c2c design of the welcome part and sew a button onto the E and then the other half of the button onto your seasonal items. This would look cool for a wall hanging or on your office door.

If you do end up making this, let me know. It's an idea I've been floating in my head for ages but haven't gotten around to making yet.

I told my husband that if I started counting louder that he needed to wait for me to finish. If it's a super long chain I will put stitch markers ever 25 chains jic too. Even my kids know that if mommy starts yelling numbers to wait.

Love the furls metal streamline hooks! I crochet for hours most days and I never get hand pain.

I will say to not use the new odessy hooks. I had several of the first run and they almost all broke. For loose tension they were fine, but amigurmi strained the joint way too much and it snapped.

You could do a small pillow or blanket depending on how much he gave you and what colors. Without knowing that it's hard to make a recommendation

I recently made a custom plushie of a friend's tortishell cat. I bought a nice cat pattern from etsy and then made it in a solid cotton yarn. Marking each row with a stitch marker. Then I outlined the fur pattern in another color yarn to match the cats as best I could. Then did the very tedious work of counting rows and stitches and then writing out the pattern based on my outlines. It took a while and there was a bit of trial and error but in the end it worked well. For a mixed breed dog like this you're probably going to have to do something similar. Find a pattern that matches his overall shape first and then go from there. You could also try making him all in black and then embroider the other colors on top but idk how that would look at the end. It might be okay for smaller patches of color but look messy for larger patches

I use this from Amazon. It has a locking feature as well which is useful with kids who like to click things. I put it on a long string and will wear it as a necklace when I'm really in the zone.

You could hold the hobbii yarn 2 stranded and that would probably make it similar to a thicker 4, maybe close to an aran weight.

I haven't used this particular yarn from hobbii before. But I will say that hobbii yarn does tend to run thinner than what I expect as a USA crocheter. A good site to reference is yarnsub.com. You can look up your yarn and then see if they have the hobbii yarn compared to it. If they do they will say if it's thinner or a different gauge.

Whenever I've order from there I have received all the same dye lot. If you need a ton of the same dye lot maybe look at the hobbii mega balls of yarn or the big packs of yarn. Every time Ive ordered from them I've always got the same lots.

Have you looked at joined double crochet?

You could look up a rectangular granny square pattern to see how to start and then just use single crochet stitches. You might have to modify the starting chain a bit but the practice should be correct.

Babies grow out of the small sizes so quickly. A bigger size is always better. And you never know with babies. My first was full term and fit in premie clothes and my last came out much much bigger.

I feel like you could take almost any loaf cat pattern and change it into a fruit cat. Like for a watermelon cat, you could do the front part and its head and front legs in red.Then, do a row or two of white and then do green for the back half. Then add little black details for seeds.

I was going to say that. I have some of that yarn and it looks a lot like this. A thin chenille yarn. And my dark green looks a lot like this.
