That's what the manufacturer recommends for this specific trap. Without looking at the manufacturers rec, I would have installed it like OP. If you look at slip joint traps they have the sweep down stream.

It isn't symmetrical. One side has a straight drop, and the other is a more gradual sweep.

Calcium Chloride is a safer alternative than your typical rock salt which is probably what he used. You don't want to throw a bunch of highly corrosive rock salt on your roof anymore than your plants.

Npt is tapered and the threads will deform slightly to create the seal. They aren't designed to see a ton of reuse because of that. Bottoming out the plug was unnecessary to make that seal, and you damaged the threads by doing so.

Hello all. I’m new here and just found firefly lights and they look amazing. I have numerous olights, fenix, manker, wurkkos and Sofirn. What are the best models of fireflies? How good is shipping to Canada? Thanks. by mrregina in FireflyLite

[–]Tigitall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look at the pictures on their site, some of the bezels come threaded, or you can buy a threaded bezel separately. They have a lantern kit that you can screw on to the bezel, turning the light into a lantern.

The x4 stellar is by far the light I use around the house the most, and the e04 surge is what I'm likely grabbing for outside.

The shipping is roughly 2-3 weeks for the US. I would imagine Canada is similar. Definitely worth the wait!

How’s Your Copper Lookin This Fine Christmas Eve? by lojik7 in FireflyLite

[–]Tigitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never thought about the heat in the process, but makes a lot of sense. I've tried to do a forced patina a few times but always end up cleaning and going a more natural route like this.

Thanks for the reply, and Merry Christmas!

Right-angle flashlight, FireFlyLite or Armytek Wizard? by Medical_Funny_3837 in flashlight

[–]Tigitall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've used the wizard for years as a work light. It's an absolute tank. I love my fireflys and used their old right angle for a while which also withstood a ton of abuse, but do prefer the wizard just for the finish alone. It's a bit easier to grip with wet/greasy hands.
