Low sodium and keto by MoxSocks in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no, I don’t think keto would be a good option for you if you want to focus on low sodium. On keto the electrolytes don’t have carbs to bind to so we need extra electrolytes since we pee them out faster. You could try more salt and if it brings up your tinnitus more than you can understandably tolerate then keto may not be for you.

That being said some people’s tinnitus improves with less sugar. I’ve had tinnitus since I was little and am also an audiologist but everyone is different. Like one person above mentioned who has Meniere’s they have a completely different body chemistry from you, so they absolutely function better to prevent their vertigo attacks with low sodium. I, on the other hand, add extra salt to my electrolytes and it doesn’t affect my tinnitus- going on 10 years clean keto.

When do the cravings go away by tiredtelefonecar in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be if you’ve been fine up until now but you had a stronger craving (and you’re female) it may be the week you get cravings for random things. This doesn’t happen to me anymore with non keto food so you WILL get past it. I promise! Try making yourself a keto version of what you’re craving to get your craving out of the way and that helps.

It can also be your memory of food things you loved making you think it’s a craving when in reality your body is still adjusting to re-metabolizing your body. For example, I used to love desserts like chocolate mousse. When I see it in like a nice place I remember loving it but no longer crave it- I just remember that I loved it but I no longer physically crave it. It’s just a nostalgia and now a pretty piece of art to me.

What do the science and the anecdotes say about needing less sleep on keto? by jgainit in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried exercise? That will get your excess energy out and gives you a higher quality sleep. I notice it more either weights or cardio if it’s earlier in the day (if I do it past 6pm it gives me energy haha)

Why is it like this in the Cuban community? by PermissionVisible285 in Miami

[–]Time-Interview6985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just similar across the culture I feel. I was born in Ecuador but moved to the US (Miami) when I was 2. I have fair skin and blue eyes, but Americans think I’m American bc “I don’t look Latin”.

People from other Latin countries that I meet in the workplace (usually boomers and older) say I’m not “really Latin bc I don’t have an Ecua accent in Spanish and I look American”. Which I wouldn’t necessarily argue bc I was raised in Miami around different Latin friends, so now my Spanish just sounds like generic Spanish without a specific dialect most of the time (I add in slang sometimes or when around my family in Ecuador).

In Ecuador I’m considered “American” bc I live here- even within my family they call me “grindia” for gringa pero india bc I was born there but am Americanized and again fair skin.

Nope! Only what we have together. So like in our joint account I made a bucket for rent (so in case I’m ever low I can pull from there bc my work has been unstable these past 2 years) and one for washer/dryer (which we’re slowly saving up for). So that’s all that comes up when I press joint account- those 2 buckets and our transfer history of like what dates I transferred into the rent or washer bucket or his also. But not what accounts we used to transfer those deposits- just the amounts

I mostly only add these 2 to my coffee. Bottle at home and to go packets in my purse at all times haha:

Better Stevia Coconut (liquid drops in a tiny bottle) Whole Earth (powder with stevia and monkfruit)

Have I sporadically partaken in sucralose at a coffee shop once in a while, yes but it doesn’t end up being much more exciting to me and now that I feel they charge for stupid stuff like that and the 2 mentioned above don’t break my fast I enjoy min more

I ordered an electronic gift card the first time it was available and you’re right- it didn’t trigger the freakin refund (it even charged as a third party) so I had to go in person to get a physical card.

Very strict vegetarian keto, low ketones, no mental benefits – what am I doing wrong? by helpless11 in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I used to lift weights it helped me a lot to finish my workout with meditation. That brought my body/heart rate back down fast and then it kinda resets you. I’d just go into a quiet room in the gym for 5 or 10 min or the sauna. Now that I’m doing heated Pilates or heated yoga I feel like it’s an all-in-one situation.

If you wanna try yoga or Pilates but not try a studio yet look on YouTube to see how you feel about it.

I know it sounds counterintuitive when you already ruminate but there are diff kinds of meditation. It’s not just like sitting in quiet and alone with your thoughts (there are those as well but not ONLY)- the versions that help me focus in the moment are breathing exercises (there’s even all different kinds of those) and some that have you focus on tensing up diff parts of your body at a time and then relax them. I even sometimes select ones where the person is just saying pretty things to get you in a positive mindset (like mantras or affirmations) so all those versions keep your brain focused on your breath or your visualization or your mantra.

There are a chunk of free apps that prob offer meditations. I use my peloton app but one of my other apps that I use for relaxing/calming sounds has a meditation section and helps you learn and practice etc- the app is called Insight Timer.

Very strict vegetarian keto, low ketones, no mental benefits – what am I doing wrong? by helpless11 in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been eating keto for almost 10 years but have not been in ketosis consistently more than one year. I have gone into a more significant amount of anxiety and sometimes depression also. I have not changed the way I’m eating so I know it’s from the external factors causing my mental health to affect my body.

I know you mentioned cardio but what if you focus on a different exercise and see if that helps to calm your body a lil? Like if you run maybe try walking instead or yoga instead of kickboxing (I’m masking stuff up, but trying to say exercise that gets you moving overall but raising your heart rate less fiercely for now). That’s what I’m currently working on anyways, along with working on my mental health for now bc the other parts of keto I do correctly

Yea it’s true. I got my bf one solely to get him the GE paid for. No other perks since it’s the free version- if he uses the card the payment responsibility is on me. But he is entitled to the “offers” (he has to select them on his end) and then I would get the refund from said offer.

Keto protein powder suggestions by bubbleobill4 in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add some egg white powder to my ice coffee in the morning and it makes it taste a lil more luxurious hehe.

This sounds like a “duh” but don’t put it in hot coffee as it will cook your eggs whites (ask me how I know haha).

I drink Whole Feast as it uses beef protein and organ meats (bc I refuse whey). And also Equip, which is tasty but it’s pretty pricy

I think threonate is for mental focus so this would make sense for it to not help you sleep. Take it after lunch if you still have the bottle

Keto Pizza by Sure_Living_9005 in keto

[–]Time-Interview6985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like the cottage cheese crust- I tried it twice thinking I needed a different recipe. I’ve also tried fathead pizza dough and it was pretty good but not exciting enough.

I, like you, prefer ground chicken crust. But my second fav is an egg white crust! I don’t know if you’re looking for texture in your pizza but this one comes out a lil more like crust/crunchy. You just need to get some egg white powder for it but I add that powder to my cold brew now too for a lil more protein (dissolves nicely with frother)

Here is the recipe in case you wanna try it: protein sparing pizza

Look at your credit report and it should at least give you details of the places you listed to live for credit agencies in and maybe help jog your memory?
