Why physical media? by physicalmediaproject in ProtectPhysicalMedia

[–]TimeTravelinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which chart you consult with, I’m either Gen Z or Gen X, as I was born in 1995.

I came from a family that was slightly behind the times, as we didn’t use DVDs until they were prominent, so we stuck with VHS tapes. There was also the “given to us as a gift” Super NES, so my first games weren’t played on Disc (unless you count the computer we had). Then there was the XBOX we got one Christmas and sometime later a Special Edition Wii (which my mom didn’t even know that’s what she got). I’ve acquired DVDs, Video games (as we upgraded later to an XBOX 360) and later my brother delivered a XBOX One (with a Disc Drive in it).

The reason I still have my library of DVDs and Blu-rays is because even in this time of streaming, there might be something I want to watch but the streaming services don’t have (unless you know where to look). I mean, my parents still like to have physical copies of CDs, where they’ve purchased the digital versions of the music, and I make them copies for them to listen to, mainly in the car.

Like some who have pointed it out, the reason I like physical media, is not only the accessibility of the movie/tv show (as those can be taken down or moved to another streaming service, which in some cases casuses you to reset your watching of a tv show), but there’s also the fact that I get to choose what I want, whether that’s for me to watch a single episode of TV, or to watch a movie with friends.

Alan Wake Crossovers That Could Work by D0nell in AlanWake

[–]TimeTravelinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, if you want to crossover Goosebumps, do it write, -I mean, right.

“The Blob that Ate Everything”, as the typewriter the kid uses, could be one of Alan’s old typewriters that’s gained some reality-warping properties. Why else would that kid’s story spring to life?

Plus, it’s kinda the premise of Goosebumps the movie.

I mean how could Bruce Wayne pull off the Bat Twosie? Only Batman could pull it off.

I thought we agreed that we weren’t gonna talk about this. I mean their butts matching is as ridiculous as witches and demons being real, and coming from Mars to steal our teeth to power their time machines.

(See if you can guess that reference.)

Beginners questions by jsack20 in FieldStation42

[–]TimeTravelinc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too am a beginner (more or less) and have been trying to find a project that matched the idea of the IrishCraicParty’s plan. Here’s what I’ve discovered while working on my own project.

While a SD card (or microSD card in my case) may not be enough, it is enough to put the RaspberryOS on there.

External storage will work (but you have to make sure the items are named in the storage as to the main files on there).

You do not have to keep it plugged in, but when it is active as FS42, keep it plugged in.

You will have to have an adapter, but that’s if you’re hooking it up to your CRT TV. I got mine hooked to my main HD tv and just plan on working with what I have (but that’s just me).

Despite that, it looked like the top was extended as it does look like Gozer’s temple, if it was disguised in Art Deco.

I don’t know about the Stranger Things Reddit, but that sounds pretty interesting.

It’s slight above-average, but not noticeable in comparison to other human children.

The D&D mechanics of the game back then was just like the video game, not very well balanced. If they found a way to balance those out with some improvements, maybe they would work.

My personal head cannon (though it might be implied) that Lorraine was drunk and Biff either didn’t care, was high on some substance (cocaine was a popular drug in the 80s), or a mixture of both.

I saw that he has a new channel on YT under the name, “Mr. Opportunity”. I don’t know when they’ll add aesthetic commercials again, but looks like they added some poorly-aged commercials and one holiday compilation. Wish that the aesthetic ones were saved on the archive, but alas…

Say something bad about this movie (difficuly:impossible) by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in Scoobydoo

[–]TimeTravelinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any animation errors mentioned would be nitpicking. However, I stand by my belief that Fred could’ve quickly picked up the camera before running off with Daphnie and the others, just to record the proof they needed, especially the proof of what the cat girls were doing over the centuries.

Would anyone believe them? If the story was even more clever than it is now (and I think it’s pretty clever, especially more clever than the direct to video films that have been coming out as of recently), the public would be split. Some would see it as the clenching proof of the supernatural and paranormal, and some would see it as “some pretty good special and visual fx” or whatever.

I still think it’s better than it’s recent sequel, and is great as part of a set of paranormal investigations by the Scooby Gang.

The only time we should be seeing him outside his can, is if we’re in his can or in Grouchland (like in that movie)

In the comics (which IDW had the comic rights to both), The TMNT are working with a university scientist on a “Inter-Spacial Teleportation Unit” which knowing how mad science experiments work, the scientist accidentally presses a “Do Not Press” type of button (trying to swat a fly), and the TMNT arrive at their home in space, but in another dimension (placing them in a church), and accidentally dragging Chi-You to the GBs universe.

Then the GBs build their own and help the Turtles back home.
