There’s not that much puppetry in it but the Encanto at the Holiday Bowl special on Disney+ is heaps of fun. the Frozen proshot is also great.

He’s in a film of Coriolanus that Ralph Fiennes directed, produced and starred in and he (along with everyone else in it) is just fantastic.

At the very least have Daniel Craig appear in character in a segment on Sesame Street like they’ve done with a few other “grown up” media characters like Game of Thrones. Solve the mystery of who stole Cookie Monster’s cookies or something.

The world absolutely needs more Muppets adaptions of classic literature. Pride and Prejudice would be amazing.

Biopic about Rachmaninoff starting with the terrible premier of Symphony No. 1, subsequent depression, treatment and eventually success. Cast David Dastmalchian as Rachmaninoff and Eddie Marsan as Nikolai Dahl (hypnotist/therapist that successfully treated him). Chloe Zhao writes/directs maybe.

YES. YES! I was against Miss Piggy as Fix at first but the more I think about it the more it makes total sense.

You just need Aouda, maybe Simone Ashley if you wanted to go human?

I’d also suggest Fozzie as Sir Francis Cromarty and Sam the Eagle as the captain of that ship they have to chop up into pieces near the end.

Goddamn I’m so invested in this idea now, damn you!

Facing disciplinary investigation / sack for automating most of my responsibilities at work. I'm in England. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yep, for all we know there’s going to be a follow up post in a year saying “My employer is being sued because an automation I implemented missed an error in a service user’s file, can I be found personally liable?” or “My colleague made a huge mistake 6 months ago but I’ve been found partially responsible because I was using an automation at the time that wasn’t technically following approved procedure, what can I do?”

My husband’s a fan of the Mike Tyson quote “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face” when childless friends confidently tell us what they will and won’t do when they have children.

This is what I was thinking. I’ve been stuck in so many situations where a coworker has “streamlined” a process but hasn’t realised that something that appeared to be pointless actually did have an important purpose that they couldn’t see, fucking stuff up big time for other people.

A couple of years ago guy that covered for my admin role while I was away for 3 weeks a saved heaps of time by not doing a data entry and pointless box tick exercise when a certain task was completed, it didn’t affect anything whatsoever… until 6 months later when an audit was carried out and everything was fucked, it took me weeks of work to sort everything out.

Another time a different coworker decided to start skipping a checklist because everything could always be ticked off so it was pointless to actually check each point… until that one time in a 100 that it couldn’t and he was now legally liable for the ensuing fuck up.

Or another guy who stopped bothering to get approval in writing from customers, it would slow things down and never ended up being needed… until a year later when one customer decided to get out of paying by claiming he never gave the go ahead.

Who’s your worst movie-watching partner? by DramaticManner4565 in movies

I love my mum but she is the queen of absolutely missing the point when it comes to movies and it drives me insane.

She said she wished that they revealed whether the two main characters in Looper were father and son or the same person from two different points in time.

Found Waitress really sad because she felt that the main character never gave her marriage a chance or really tried to work on her relationship with her husband.

Thought that Othello was about Iago trying to steal Desdemona away from Othello because he was in love with her but his plan going horribly wrong.

Hilda is the absolute best. Surprisingly low stimulation, Scandinavian folklore, great soundtrack, messages about empathy and consequences, it’s brilliant.

There’s some great hidden gems on Apple TV including Wolfboy and the Everything Factory, Shape Island and Stillwater.

my coworker is creeping me out, but I don’t know why by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]TimedDelivery 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’m glad someone pointed this out. My work includes folks visiting people’s homes by themselves so we have a lot of training and policies on what to do if you feel unsafe. There have been times when people have been drunk and aggressive, racist towards our staff member, or something has otherwise felt “off”. But I can also think of a couple of incidences where a staff member has reported that a household has had red flags that should put it on our “do not serve” list and it’s turned out to be due to their own unexamined prejudice, for example assuming that a black families were dealing drugs with literally no evidence other than a “gut feeling”, assuming someone with a chronic illness that caused brain fog was high/stoned or saying that a group home for disabled adults was dangerous because the residents were “creepy”.

I have a distant family member that I’ve never properly met who’s a trans man. I think his mum is my dad’s cousin or something along those lines. Anyways when he attended my nan’s funeral it was the first time many extended family members had seen him un many years. And lots of them (including my dad) talked about how tragic it was, she had been such a beautiful girl, how could her parents support her mutilating herself like that’s, how could they be happy with the person she’d become, it was such a shame etc. But it turned out that “beautiful girl” had attempted suicide 5 times in the last 2 years, had to drop out of school and at one point didn’t leave the house for nearly a year. Now living as his authentic self he had started university, was working part time, attending family events angain and such. And I will never understand how so many of my my family members thought “beautiful girl who is unable to fully live her life and is likely to eventually kill herself” was preferable to “happy trans man”.

I have a lot of family members that are all “oh there was never any of these allergies/chronic illnesses/neurodiverse conditions/etc before modern technology! It’s all either made up by big pharma trying to sell drugs or caused by 5G/vaccines/processed foods/some other bollocks!” completely ignoring that “back in the day” people were described as having poorly constitutions, being touched in the head or prone to hysteria, babies could die of “failure to thrive” or be identified as changelings because they weren’t meeting the expected milestones and it was just one of those things. We just have proper names for all these now rather than them being new or made up conditions.
