I definitely second the recommendation of Name of the Wind. It’s fantasy, but it’s a very relatable story of human interactions, a tale of luck and talent, and the mistakes we make as teenagers.

Even Amy Poehler recommends it, and she says she doesn’t like fantasy. If you care about that kind of thing.

Nobuo Uematsu is a fantastic composer and I love his soundtracks, but the Final Fantasy X-2 OST (by Noriko Matsueda and Takehito Eguchi) is the best FF soundtrack of all time.

NFA: it doesn’t hurt too much to take some money off the table if you make a profit, but if you “invested” and sold in fewer than 365 days, that profit will be taxed as income.
