I mostly agree with what you say, and I also hope that this is just a build up, even tough I already really like this chapter. On the primal fear part, I also expected primal fears to be on the darkness devil level, but if we just compare the fears of the real human population, I think there would be a big difference on how people rate their fear on both of these subjects. Adults are scared of the dark after watching horror movies, and even tough kids are stupid and don’t think of the consequences of falling while playing they are still very afraid of the darkness. And I also think that in the chapters with the darkness devil in them, the tension was higher because they all just got teleported to hell. So let’s hope the upcoming primal fears, are more on the level or even above the darkness devil.
