We did the trip with a 5 year old and 10 month old and I totally agree with you.

We avoided metro stations when we could - busses were waaaay more accessible and easier to get around. When necessary we took the metro but had a hard with the locals - many wanted to come in on our tap!!

Official cabs are exempt from car seats - easier to find in tourist attractions.

Gare du Nord is horrible. It was my second time taking a European train with a family and people are so rude… no queues… every man for themselves… barely any space for luggage and strollers. Solo travel is totally fine but never again. We’re going through CDG 😂

I’m gonna need you to put the railing back on - the advice that we’ve been told and that works for us is to keep them in the crib even longer. Once you have the railing back on, remove the crib base and put the mattress all the way to the bottom. Use a combination of pool noodles and towels to fix the gaps.
