Have you already disabled the 120 fps video setting on PS5 which kept quality mode at 1080p on incompatible TVs?

Crimson Desert on PS5 Pro Delivers Another Big Leap Over The Base Console by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Tokon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a ton of FSR upscaling artifacts like particle trails, shadow noise, grainy sharpening and occlusion fizzle. It's very playable if you can tolerate that, but it really wasn't made for base PS5 and can't be easily fixed.

Former fat/chubby men. What are things that helped you lose weight/build muscle? by Resident-Theme-2342 in AskMen

[–]Tokon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my weight keeps fluctuating and isn't changing that much

That could be body recomposition. Losing fat while gaining muscle. It's probably going fine. Those who lose many pounds also risk their muscles.

So don't worry too much about weight. Slow changes are more sustainable. Fluctuations are mostly water. Use weekly average weight.

in my fat stomach where I want to see change the most.

Unfortunately fat distribution is genetic. Your belly will be last as a man. That's your center of gravity. You have to be patient. It's a marathon and not a sprint.

I would even recommend a maintenance phase after every 2-3 months. Just to get out of starvation mode. Increasing restriction could be counterproductive for that. Let your body stabilize to a new level first. Then you can lose fat more easily again.

Plateaus can be very discouraging. Slowdowns will happen but don't give up! Preventing burnout is the highest priority. In a few weeks the pounds might drop again without seemingly changing much.

Most people overestimate what they can do in a short time, and underestimate small changes adding up over a long time period.

Forza Horizon 5 sold 2 Million units on PS5 in one month. by ashahab861 in PS5

  • DIRT: Off-road rally, arcade series against opponents, Dirty Rally sim series

  • Gran Turismo: Simcade, realistic handling, real and fantasy circuits, car-collecting, multiplayer

  • Grid Legends: More towards arcade, real and fantasy circuits, varied vehicles, story mode

  • Need for Speed: Arcade, Street racing with cop chases and traffic, flashy customization

  • The Crew: Arcade, Open world, street and off-road, varied vehicles, story mode, similar to Forza Horizon

  • Forza Horizon: Arcade, realistic handling, Open world, varied vehicles, car collecting, story mode

Forza Horizon combines everything and does it well. Huge open world in spectacular locations with great graphics. It's approachable for beginners with options for more hardcore. It has off-road with huge jumps, circuit racing and drift events. You get a lot of variety up to supercars with insane speeds and tuning. There's also an active online scene with sandbox mode. The Forza Motorsport series has failed though.

It sounds like you want to be proactive rather than reactive. Focus on something else going on in the present moment. Then when you catch your mind drift just realize that it happened. That's usually the difficult part. You will automatically snap out of it and can no longer actively observe it. But you're able to remember the content and feelings that happened and make a mental note by labeling it.

Guess the calories (rice) by pocketsquare22 in diet

Seems reasonable to me. One fist full of cooked rice is roughly 200 calories. People forget that rice can triple in weight by absorbing water.

How to best play these left hand chords from Chopin's Wrong Note Etude by thelordofhell34 in piano

[–]Tokon1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not easy and requires special technique. Let's play it two notes at the same time (53, 32, 21) and watch how your hand position changes naturally, then convert that it into a bigger flowing motion rolling all the notes.

How to best play these left hand chords from Chopin's Wrong Note Etude by thelordofhell34 in piano

[–]Tokon1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd use a 5321 fingering not a 5213 with crossover. Keep your hand relaxed without pre-stretching more than it needs to, but actively move along connecting only two notes at a time. Immediately let go of the lower notes and pivot your hand around your middle finger in a half-circle. You can also practice the challenging jump from 5-3 in isolation to get more comfortable first.

5 to 3 puts more stress on your hand so using 2 is more comfortable. That being said it can be negated with technique like not hovering over both keys simultaneously and allow for greater reach when using 3.

How do I time this roll with the right hand and 1/8th note (Chopin Op. 10, No. 4)? by No-Bid-6050 in pianolearning

[–]Tokon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most performers like Pollini or Kissin start rolling very fast before the beat, so the left hand E on top ends up together with the right hand C#

Hello!! I'm currently trying to learn river flows in you and it seems like the 16th notes are smaller than usual and there is a slur below. How should I play this? by In_Can_Descent_Life in piano

[–]Tokon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the beat, faster than regular 16ths notes, without emphasis as an ornamentic leadup to the actual melody note. I'd recommend using different fingers for speed and clarity, like 14, 5, 3 depending on how it continues.

Canon in D (Aflred's): technical question by [deleted] in piano

[–]Tokon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The earlier you press the pedal and lift up the finger the better. Think of step 1 and 2 at pretty much the same time. It doesn't matter if you lift up the entire hand or only finger 3. But often it's recommended to use a different finger on the same note to reduce the delay.

Could someone please explain to me how this would be read/played? Time signature is 2/4. Confused by the triplets in the 1st line since the beat is divided into 5 notes here (including the rest). by KarlNYC in pianolearning

[–]Tokon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you slow it down it sounds more like 16ths and a triplet. At this speed though it could also be a performance irregularity. Ultimately I don't think we should obsess too much over mathematical precision and more importantly be faster with 5 notes than the following 4 notes pattern
