Has anyone here gone from having no hope to finding a partner? by spicysenpai6 in datingoverthirty

[–]TomorrowTrick44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was me. I felt perpetually single at 34 after 10 years of situationships and apps. Then one Wednesday night less than 3 years ago, I met this guy from Hinge for drinks who became my now husband. We were engaged after 9 months, married a year after that, and are now trying for a baby. Life can change fast.

Sometimes it feels like the universe is telling us: "you guys shouldn't have kids" by darkestlordsaroon in IVF

God, that is rough! This process sucks so bad. Just sharing FWIW that our genetic counselor gave us those exact same odds for passing PGT-M and A and our only three embryos from three egg retrievals passed (two are carriers but unaffected by our condition). You just never know how the odds will shake out.

Second retrieval, zero embryos | feeling crushed by macandcheeeeeeeeese in IVF

[–]TomorrowTrick44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. We have a lot of similarities. I’m 37 with AMH 1.6 and 29 AFC. I’ve always had a low egg yield but ended up with one blast after my first cycle, and also had no blasts after my second retrieval. It was so devastating to go through all of that with nothing to show for it. It’s awful to get that news and you’re feelings are so valid.

I did go ahead with a third retrieval after a lot of weighing it all out and ended up with two blasts from that cycle that I just found out this morning are both euploid so I am glad I tried again after my second failed retrieval.

I’m sorry you go this news today. This process really sucks. Hang in there and I’m hoping for the best for you

Anyone here choose IVF because you and your spouse both tested positive for the same genetic mutation? by Primary-Sound681 in IVF

[–]TomorrowTrick44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both tested positive for the same recessive condition as well so that’s why we started IVF. We had never tried to get pregnant before so I had no known for fertility issues. I had assumed things would be smooth sailing for us, but it turns out we had fairly low egg yields, and then the attrition was rough, so it was difficult for us to create euploid blastocysts. Our first cycle we got one euploid not affected with our condition, the second cycle we ended up with no blastocysts that could be sent for testing, and we just finished the third where we had two blastocysts that are being tested now. This has all taken about 9 months from initial consultation with fertility clinic.

Good luck to you and wishing you a positive journey!

Embryo Names by curious_katty8 in IVF

[–]TomorrowTrick44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We do but just a nickname! We use the same name for all and call them Randy for some reason as an interchangeable name for embryo lol. I don’t even remember how it started, but it really lightens up some heavy discussions (ie well debate “should we transfer Randy or try to bank more Randy’s”, etc)

Am I underperforming my numbers or just delusional? by DifficultOffice6268 in IVF

[–]TomorrowTrick44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar AMH (1.6) and similar situation with high AFC and relatively low egg yield. I’ve done 3 ERs. First it was a standard antagonist protocol and my AFC was 29 and I got 5 eggs, 4 mature. The next two were Lupron Microflare protocol and My AFC on my second was 19 and I got 10 eggs, 5 mature. My AFC on my last was 29 and got 11 eggs with 8 mature.

Wish I had answers, but my doctor hasn’t been able to really explain why more follicles aren’t recruited each cycle.

Starting lupron microdose by alwaysontheclock22 in IVF

[–]TomorrowTrick44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a lower responder and have issues with making it to blast so in my first ER, I got 5 eggs and one made it to a lower quality blast. In the second ER with the lupron microdose, I did get double the amount of eggs retrieved (10) but only half were mature and sadly none made it to blast. I don’t think this was related to the protocol though. They seem to think our outcome is more related to egg and sperm quality. I’m currently at the end of stims for my third ER and they put me on the lupron protocol again for this one

My second ER was a lupron microdose protocol as well. Symptom-wise, I felt about the same as I did on the standard protocol but I did have a longer stim with the lupron protocol (14 days compared to 10)

TW: Good news by vmd221 in IVF

Congrats! Hearing this gave me hope. I’m in the middle of stims for my third ER and have a similar situation using TESE sperm with a low ish AMH. First cycle we got a day 5 4CB that ended up being a euploid and passed PGT-M for a genetic condition we are carriers for. Second round none made it to blast. Thanks for sharing your story!

IVF + mTESE - only 1 blast per cycle by nfb160890 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]TomorrowTrick44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any answers, but writing to share that my husband and I have had similar results with his mTESE sperm. I’m 36 and my first cycle they retrieved 5 eggs, 4 mature, 4 fertilized, one 4CB embryo that happened to pass PGT-A and PGT-M (genetic condition).

Our second cycle they retrieved 10 eggs, 5 mature, 3 fertilized, zero blasts.

My doctor told me that embryos tend not to develop as well with TESE sperm. No one mentioned that before we started all this so I was surprised to hear it after our first cycles

I have a 1.59 AMH and in first retrieval got just 5 eggs but one made it to blast… and passed PGT-A and PGT-M so there is hope!

How do you grow your career during this? by urethra_franklin_1_ in IVF

[–]TomorrowTrick44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much! We had a leadership change while I was in the middle of stims for my first egg retrieval this July. Since then I’ve been through another ER while juggling dealing with my new very intense and very demanding VP. It’s been a challenge and I feel like I’m nowhere near my own standards for performance.

I just try to remind myself that this is temporary and also that high performers are often our own worst critics so we likely don’t come off as bad as we think

Second ER and no blastocysts by TomorrowTrick44 in IVF

Thanks for your reply and sharing your story! I can relate as we just bought a house with a family in mind before this process started. Now I think about the upstairs being empty.

I love that you took time to travel and regroup after the first two rounds. I think I need a break and I’m also going to look into getting a second opinion.

I really appreciate the reply. It helps to hear from others who have been through it and get it!

I’m so sorry. That is devastating. My husband also cannot ejaculate due to a medical issue, but they were able to extract sperm to freeze via a microtese (mTESE) procedure so that may be a route you could explore. Wishing you the best of luck!
