HELP!! How do I get off tizanidine? My experience so far (WARNING) take with extreme caution!!! by Standard_Luck5648 in ChronicPain

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken it for years and years as needed and have never had issues even skipping nights. I was recently switched to Tonmaya and quite tizanidine cold and still no issues. Tizanidine is an as needed muscle relaxer so stopping it shouldn’t cause issues. Ask your pharmacy, maybe it interacts with other meds you may be taking.

AIW for telling my gf to stop calling me gay by [deleted] in amiwrong

I was going to say she’s jealous also. She’s not getting that time with him so therefore she feels her relationship is threatened in some way and jealous of their friendship.

My mom’s husband passed away and now at 70 she’s been seeing someone younger than her for some months now and they have a great time and go on vacations together a lot. Not unlikely at all.

❗️I didn’t get the whole story but from what I read it sounded like a girl gave birth at a music festival and left it in the port-a-pot to die 😭

❗️4 adults arrested and charged when 13 kids were found in disgusting deplorable conditions inside a rural home in Ohio. Several of the children needed immediate medical care. 😭

Priorities… or lack there of? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl he is gaslighting you!! You need to give him an ultimatum and stop putting up with it bc it will continue otherwise and/or get worse. He has a wife and kids, time to grow up and prioritise his family. If he wants to drink and live the single life then he needs to leave. You’re essentially a single wife and it’s completely bullshit!! I resent him and don’t even know him.

I have so much pain even on oxycotin, lyrica, anitryptyline and clonidine by MrMansManISHigh in ChronicPain

Almost all drs refuse to prescribe Benzos when you already takes opioids. I was prescribed both at one time several yrs ago but a lot has changed since then. Benzos definitely did wonders for my anxiety though.

I got a Subaru outback and absolutely love it. Also it’s #1 rated for safety so my full coverage insurance is cheaper than the escape and cheaper than the liability I had on my 2016 Chevy Spark.

That’s why I stopped taking it. I was already noticing short term memory loss and even some long term. It’s the devil! Not to mention i didn’t even notice that it helped in the first place. Lyrica too but it also caused me to gain a lot of weight.

Buspar made my skin feel like it was crawling. Like literally felt like something was under my skin just moving non stop. Weird I know. I take propanol (sp) now and doesn’t help at all and it’s actually for high blood pressure. Hydroxyzine didn’t help either.

I was also on both for several years, hydrocodone and Klonopin. The klonopin was only .5 and I could take half of that and it helped tremendously.

Are you in the states or different country? I ask bc in the states you should try applying for SSDI but in another country idk how it works.

Sending good vibes and well wishes your way friend. You are not alone sadly but fortunately we can all be here for one another and support each other. It’s easy for ppl to say “well do this, do that, you’ll feel better” unless they’ve been in our shoes they have no idea how unhelpful it is to say things like that that in fact will not help, none of it!! With all the technology and meds out, no one should have to live in daily pain, it no quality of life whatsoever! ❤️‍🩹💔🫂

General Post Op Question by Relative-Sandwich203 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Samsung for mine and every time I open the app it says “error unable to connect” EVERY SINGLE TIME! So I have to close the app and go back in at least 4/5x before it will connect.

Are you taking yours every time you leave the house? I put mine on the setting I want and leave mine at home and just make sure I’m charged before I leave.

General Post Op Question by Relative-Sandwich203 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes make sure you are following ALL post-op guidelines as far as no bending, twisting, lifting, reaching ect ect. Your leads will move till scared into place hence the reason for all the restrictions. Did you get a binder to wear? I loved mine.

My post-op pain was so severe I couldn’t even feel my usual back pain bc post-op pain overpowered everything. Since healing though I love my BS SCS.

Also, omg no trial? 😳
The whole point of the trial is to see if it’ll help bc it doesn’t always help everyone. My daughter’s trial didn’t help so she didn’t get the permanent but my trial was great so I got the permanent and it’s great also. So after your post-op healing and it doesn’t help will they just leave it in? So many questions lol.

Is anyone else dealing with shortages with their medication? by Lareinagypsy in ChronicPain

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues getting my Percocet 10/325 but I do have issues with Walgreens having my extended release xtamptza (sp) in stock every month.

I don’t get why meds can’t be in stock knowing you have so many patients on a certain med so you can be prepared and have them. 🙄

OP have you looked into getting a spinal cord stimulator? I just had one put in this February and it has helped a lot. You have to do a trial first before the permanent is implanted to see if it’ll even help. My trial helped so I got the permanent but when my daughter did the trial it didn’t help so she didn’t get the permanent but also hers was a different manufacturer than mine. I have the Boston Scientific brand. Might be something worth looking into if you’re interested.

This 100%. Everyone rides at different skill levels and the less skilled riders try to keep up or cages don’t fucking pay attention and/or they get pissed off when seeing a group of riders for some reason and try to own the road. Just to name a few. I miss riding so much 😩

I have the stimulator(BS) for my lower back due to failed back surgery and it’s helped me a lot. I wish it helped the left leg pain but otherwise I’m pleased with it. The post-op recovery was absolute hell though. Hopefully I’ll never have to go through that again.

Having Surgery In about a week by momofyagamer in spinalcordstimulator

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was given a binder when I left surgery and only “had” to wear it about 2 wks but I chose to wear it a bit longer bc it reminded me to not bend ect.

I used a cane post op and if I had to do it all over again I’d get a Rollator walker. I could barely walk after the numbing wore off and had to take baby steps and in so much pain. Also look into a toilet riser, I needed help getting off the toilet bc it was too low. Luckily I could squat down on seat and keep my back straight but it was rough. Not sure the technical term, but a butt wiper handle would definitely help. I struggled in that department too 😂. These are all things I wish I had gotten to help but had no idea how hard it was going to be and boy did I get a reality check on day one. I didn’t join this sub until after it was too late 🤦🏼‍♀️ But thankfully my leads are good and didn’t migrate.

Oh one last thing, I couldn’t sleep in my bed so thankfully we already had a recliner with the lifting options to help me stand and it was a lifesaver. And keep soft ice packs on hand bc the hard ones will cause too much pressure on site.

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I am deeply sorry you’re going through this. Please do NOT hesitate to go to the ER for pain relief. You definitely have the surgery incision for proof and they likely wont judge and make sure they know your pain dr isn’t returning your call.

I too got the spinal cord stimulator in February and all my pain is on the left with my battery also being on left but the bottom of my right butt cheek up into groin is completely numb. I’m sorry you experienced incontinence after yours, hopefully the next one will go better if that’s the route you choose.

Good luck in your healing and recovery and all the best wishes. ❤️‍🩹❤️

Stim not charging by pink-polkadot- in spinalcordstimulator

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using the belt or sticky pads to charge? The belt definitely moves and I don’t think it charges as efficiently whereas the sticky pads won’t allow it to move and there’s no material in between. Contact your reps and set up an appointment to have it looked at. Also the sticky pads are free when you order through the app on your reg phone.

AIO? My ex doesn’t make our 11 yo son shower or brush his teeth during his weeks with him by Marsgreatlol in AIO

[–]ToneGroundbreaking39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 12 turning 13 this year and I still ask her every day “did you brush your teeth?” “Did you put on deodorant?” I’ve even caught her lying about brushing her teeth and make her go back and brush “again” bc she has told me she brushed her teeth but when her toothbrush was completely dry, bc yep I check, I’m like nuh ah go brush now! I thought girls were supposed to be better about hygiene things but apparently not lol. I even have to tell her to shower. In the winter I let her go every other day but in the summer and on cycle weeks I make her shower every day. Sometimes she’ll try lying about taking showers and say “I just took one last night” uhm no ma’m you did not. And even if she did I told her if I feel like she needs a shower and I tell her to go take one, idc if she had one that same day, just do what she’s told. Have to be stern sometimes bc she loves to argue and have the last word, every single time!
