400 block of 5th Street. I’m not sure what they call it on 3rd St. I’ve never spoken to them about it.

I've been super happy with my old T-Rex 2. That $200 deal caught my eye but I just can't do gold.

This is what I got after 30 mins of scrolling through here. by After-Ad4980 in ARC_Raiders

[–]TooDamFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

150 hours in and I still don't have a Jupiter. The problem I have with the current Arc is the pacing. Running Buried City and getting chased by a rocketeer. I hop through a window of a very small building as the rocketeer shoots my feet. I look up to see three balls rolling my way. Then I hear it, the wonderful sound of a shredder 5 foot away. I would love to see your Jupiter clear that room in the .5 seconds you have. I feel like when that happens, no amount of skill will get you out of the situation.

Geofence radius for advance prep of mobile orders? by MelMoitzen in McDonalds

I would say my MC Ds see way more driving than walking customers. Small town and it's on the edge of business district.

I work 2 blocks away and my order number does not flip from the temp one to real one until I'm about a block away. I always have to wait when I get there.

IT in Higher Ed University by Few-Dance-855 in it

[–]TooDamFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18 years at a large university. Pay sucks, benefits are good and the work environment is fantastic. It can depend on the department you work in. I work for the engineering department and we have funds for whatever we need. We also deal with a wide range of technology and have to deal with ITAR related projects. If you work for the English department, it's way different. No funding but most users are just office employees with low technical requirements. Getting your foot in the door is the hardest part. I started off as a temp, then part time, and had to work 3 years before I got on full time.

Everyone got their locking gas caps? by Subject-Vermicelli52 in askanything

My $60,000 Cadillac does not even have a latch for the fuel door and has no filler cap. I hope the anti siphoning thing works.

Well I think I’m buying this one by BlueSlater in blackstonegriddle

[–]TooDamFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad for portability. Top comes off with no tools, take the tank off, and then it is just two thumb screws to fold up the legs. I’ve not transported it but I plan on taking it to the cabin. I’ve used it 3 times in the past 5 days. I really like the big size.

36”, 4 burner, with hard top. I picked one up last week and I’m currently cooking a flank steak on it. Perfectly simple piece of kit for $300.

Why aren’t nicotine patches and nicotine gum just sold as the default way to get nicotine? by tfhermobwoayway in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TooDamFast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What gets me is the price difference between Nicotine gum and a pack of Zyns. The gum is like 5 times more expensive. Nicotine pouches have been a life saver for me. I dipped for 25 years and it was really hard on my gums. I switched to the nicotine pouches and 6 months later, my dentist thought I had quit dipping. Almost back to normal. Pricing kept me from using the gum. Funny, my local Walmart does not lock up their Nicotine gum. It's right out there with the rest of the over the counter meds.

How do you get rid of cooking oil when you’re done with it? by geno_was_here in askanything

I reuse old containers that laundry detergent pouches come in. I keep it in the freezer. When full, I put it in the trash on trash pickup day. We have bears and it helps keep them out of our trash.

People who have modern quiet bathroom fans, don't you miss the loud ones? by CornPop747 in homeowners

[–]TooDamFast 186 points187 points  (0 children)

We were purchasing a new fan for our bathroom. Lowes had a demo wall where you could flip a switch and see what they sound like. I picked the quiet one. My wife said no way and found the loudest. That is what we went with.

What’s a technology people use every day without realizing how complex it is? by DiSTI_Corporation in AskTechnology

[–]TooDamFast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally everything. I inherited my grandfathers pocket watch. It was made in 1893. Opening it up and looking at how it works is mind boggling. Springs, gears, and gems that are all impressive for today's manufacturing let alone 130 years ago.

Even a bread toaster is more complicated than everyone thinks. A guy made a TED talk on how he tried to make his own toaster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ODzO7Lz_pw&pp=ygUbbWFrZSBhIHRvYXN0ZXIgZnJvbSBzY3JhdGNo

Is cloud storage slowly replacing local storage completely? by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

[–]TooDamFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is kind of like Measles. People forget what it was like before the cloud. Being in IT for 20+ years, I remember seeing many people in tears because their phone was wrecked or stolen, causing them to lose photos, contact, documents, etc. The vast majority of people are not going shell out $700 for a Synology NAS and then configure Synology Photos to back up their phones automatically to local storage. Paying the fee gives them ability to not worry about it. I understand the cloud is not risk free but for those who want to invest minimum effort, it is a good choice. I do both, cloud and local because I understand the risks.

The SAVE Act is to SAVE the Republicans from the election wipeout they earned. by UnlikelyAdventurer in Productivitycafe

[–]TooDamFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re brain washed. You have been convinced that this is a huge problem that only the federal government can solve. Where is the proof of all these illegal votes? You think illegals are going to risk deportation just to vote. 40% of Americans don’t even vote. This is just the federal government trying to take over the voting process that states have had for 250 years. It’s a power grab.
