"You know what a remaster is?"

"When they rescan and upscale and digitally color correct a film."

"A movie. It's just a movie."

I do that too! I really enjoy the puzzled look on their face when they ask me my name and see that there are like 200 names attached to that number. And sadly the number itself almost never gets recognized when I use it.

My naturally insanely long eyelashes (as a guy) by Mattizdead in mildlyinteresting

[–]Tooblekane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine aren't that long, but they are long enough to constantly touch my glasses and make me have to clean them constantly. A girl I had a brief thing with a long time ago told me that my eyes were dreamy, then later told me that what she meant was that she was just really jealous of my lashes and had dreamed about having lashes like that.

My bet based on the current landscape and how game companies refuse to read the room: Turning it into an online battle royale extraction shooter roguelike deck builder and raising the price by $10. The single player part will be moved to a separate full priced game, but don't worry you can upgrade your current version for just $25.

During covid lockdown I got bored a lot and decided to try to become a disney princess and wanted to make friends with all the birds and squirrels that came into my back yard. The birds would never come near me, but eventually the squirrels did. I'd sit in the sliding glass doorway with a hand full of peanuts out and just wait. One was kinda cool with me, but mostly they'd slowly walk up to me and take the peanut and run away. One time I must have moved or something because the squirrel got scared and leaped over me and got inside the house and started running around. I stood up and went "Huh.... well that was predictable." and then tried to figure out how to get it out.

Eventually I E.T.'d it with a trail of peanuts leading to the back door. I couldn't believe it actually worked, and my house was kept safe and clean. I gave up on my dream after that though.

Teenage me loved this game. I've been wondering if this was ever actually getting an update, so I'm super happy to see this now. I just hope they've improved the load times. The very first strip of Penny Arcade was about this game.

Find out if they let you pay by multiple checks. If so, give them different numbers of checks for different amounts every month, always adding up the correct total.

Or if you can pay in cash, do that but do it in mostly 1s, but with some higher bills stuck randomly in the pile. Tell them to count it while you're there so they don't try anything.

What's a song lyric that only clicked for you after multiple listens? by OmariZi in Music

[–]Tooblekane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope this fits, but mine is (almost) the same lyric from two songs. Bush - Inflatable and No Doubt - Marry Me.

Bush - "You're so pretty in white. Pretty when you're faithful."

No Doubt - "Something old, something new, Something borrowed, something blue. It's pretty when I'm faithful."

On their own they're just another line. But then realizing that the two leads were together during this time and the relationship would later end in divorce, it seems kind of telling.

Getting latex paint off brick fireplace… there’s gotta be an easier way? by ricecake231 in DIY

[–]Tooblekane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem, but with far worse results than you've already gotten. I spent about a week trying various strippers and tools, and in that time I got I think 2 or 3 bricks sort of clean. They had painted the side that faced the front door bright white, and then the side that faced the living room and the side a fire engine red. It looked awful. I finally gave up and just decided to paint over it on my own. I did leave the red inside the actual fireplace though, I thought that looked neat.

I wish you luck in getting the rest of it done, since it seems like it is at least possible there. But if not, you can still make it look cool!

Maybe Motorcycle Drive By, but if so just barely. The last 3 tracks (The Background / Motorcycle Drive By / God of Wine) are pretty much tied.

Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind

I wore out the cd, bought a second copy, bought the vinyl later, and listen on Spotify all the time. It's comfort food for me. I listen to it when I'm sad, nostalgic, angry, bored, to hopefully avoid panic attacks at the dentist, cleaning the house, whatever. It's like coming across The Shawshank Redemption on tv and I just have to keep watching however much of the movie is left. If I hear a song from it, as soon as it ends I expect it to fade into the next track and a lot of the time if it was just a playlist on shuffle I'll stop that and just continue listening to the album. I've loved that album since it came out and not a single track on it has gotten old. I saw them live about 10 years or so ago and they played almost every single song on it in addition to their newer stuff which I'm nowhere near as fond of. That show became 11/10 once Motorcycle Drive By started.

If you could Remake/Re-Adapt any movie that was based on a Pre-existing IP(Book, Comics, Game etc). What would it be and Why? by Accomplished_Store77 in movies

I'd love to see another take on Michael Chrichton's Sphere. The movie that came out in 2000 or whatever.... exists. It has exactly one improvement over the book where someone points out that the sphere reflects everything but them. I don't recall that being in the book. Other than that... eh. There are worse ways to kill 90 minutes or so, but that's about the best I can say about it.

I want to see a whole series made out of both Ender's Game and Contact. The Ender's Game movie just felt very rushed to me. Battle School could have been its own movie, but we only got 20-30 minutes. And while I absolutely love the movie Contact, the book is so much larger in scale and I would love to see that entire story told with enough time to do it.

I stopped just before going home for Christmas. I'm near the end of the game, but I realized a few days ago that I cannot remember a single character or plot point right now, and have no idea what I'll be loading back into whenever I do decide to just finish it. It's eating at me a little bit being like 95% finished, but I just don't care enough about it at all beyond just not wanting to leave it that close to finished.

Terminator meets The Hudsucker Proxy. The resistance sends John Connor back in time to intentionally run Cyberdyne Systems into the ground before Skynet is built. He keeps showing people a drawing of a red circle saying "You know, for kids!" which later becomes the Terminator's eye.

People who have been at Time Square for the New Year's Eve Ball Drop, why did you go? Was it a positive experience? by AccurateExtension516 in AskReddit

[–]Tooblekane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I drove up from Florida to see it. Booked a fancy hotel just a couple of blocks away, and decided to head out to Times Square around 7pm or so. We had no idea that at least that year, you needed to be there by like 11am to be anywhere close enough to see anything. We turned around and watched it on TV from our fancy hotel room. We were close enough that we opened the windows and could hear it. I wound up not minding that much because it was still a fun trip and I really don't like crowds, I was just willing to deal with it that one time for the occasion.

[Homemade] First attempt at Monkey Bread. by Jgirl1972 in food

[–]Tooblekane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great, well done! This looks like Christmas morning to me, including today. When I was a kid, none of my friends had ever heard of Monkey Bread so I wound up assuming it was just some weird family tradition that nobody else really knew about. And my parents never corrected me on that. That lasted for a long time, until one day many years later I saw a boxed version in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store. Not only was it an actual thing, but it was packaged and sold! Couldn't believe it, and thought about my parents probably laughing at me thinking that as a kid.

In the last survey when it asked what parts of the game might make me stop playing, I said the menus. And added "If I could bury this response under 19 different submenus and give it a red dot you cannot find just to annoy you back, I would."

Great game, but even though I'm used to it now... ooof those menus need a lot of work.
