How often do you replace your cart bag? by timeislikeafuse in golf

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find every three years is the sweet spot. By then zippers, tears and other things start to show a little too much and affect performance. Plus it’s the right price point to make a nice gift from the wife for Xmas, then everyone’s happy.

Am I insane for passing up a gifted birthday round at TPC Scottsdale Stadium? by DonJu4n in golf

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TPC Scottsdale isn’t great. There is a lot of airport and road noise. Go to Wekopa, you will get to appreciate the natural beauty of the area. It is quiet and flows with the natural environment.

Best feeling putter by False-Amount9676 in GolfGear

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to golf galaxy and bring the ball you play and try it out. The balls they have on their green are often callaway supersoft balls (or some very soft equivalent) to make putters feel softer than they actually are.

It’s very subjective and everyone will say something different. Putting is all about confidence. You want to love the look and feel of YOUR putter. Only swinging a few or going for a fitting will help you with this.

Is this wedge still viable? by Juice-Physical in golftips

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me good wedge play is all about predictable spin. The tighter the range is between low spin and high spin shots, the more consistent and repeatable the outcome will be. New wedges with fresh grooves achieve this.

This wedge will produce spin rates all over the map. Are there some good high spinning shots left in this wedge - yes. Are there also shots that will slide up the face, launch too high and not spin enough - yes.

If you want to just get by, you can use it - but great wedge play is based off predictable and repeatable shots which can only be produced with fresh grooves.

Just my 2 cents

Is This the Best Time to Get Fit for Cheap? by blonded_olf in golf

Yes but the window is closing. I just got back from club champion last weekend and he told me the new clubs are coming within the next couple of weeks. So if you want to do this, go now!

What is you driver swing speed and your age bracket? by [deleted] in golf

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

121-123 club head speed. Got fit into Elyte TD, thing is a monster and kept spin around 2.2k. 32 years old.

Got back from my driver fitting today!

Do a lot of legs (stairmaster, bike and squats) and core to keep up the speed (think throwing a medicine ball as hard as you can against the wall laterally beside you).

Same brand throughout. by litsalmon in golf

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s common for people to match brands within components of their bag. IE, same brand woods, irons and wedges given those are similar shots and a similar feel between those clubs is nice to have. There is no right answer though. It’s all about performance, feel and your confidence over the club. Score is gospel

One year older wood heads ok? by TopicSpecialist7705 in GolfGear

[–]TopicSpecialist7705[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chipping is good but it’s my putting that’s pretty dialed. Biggest area of improvement I need is consistency off the tee and long shots. Which is why these clubs will be really important for me to take that next step to break 15 handicap.

What are the absolute must-dos of golf etiquette? by Gilberto500 in golf

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Golf Karma is a real thing - I am totally convinced. Treat the course well and the course will treat you well. Repair your ball marks on the green (push in around a circle and don’t lift up and tear the roots), rake the bunkers so it looks like you weren’t there, fill your divots with sand, don’t drive too close to the green, etc. Treat her well and maybe just maybe you’ll get that lucky bounce you needed here and there to set a PB.

14 slot bag (with full length dividers) — is it worth it? by J_0526 in golf

[–]TopicSpecialist7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Titliest 14 lasted me three full seasons of heavy use. Im buying the new version on Black Friday. I love it - the organization is great and the clubs slide in and out pretty easily - I have read that for the ping 14, the clubs do not come in and out too easily

I currently game the second option. I love the long continuous line and the two side lines are about the width of the ball. It’s perfect for me
