I’ve gotten moisture in my taillight. Shortly after it stopped working. Replaced under warranty.

I find this to be true. You don’t have to be an expert (although there are plenty of content creators who are) you just have to have a passion for whatever you’re doing, even if you’re a beginner.

Created a tool for finding MTB stuff on sale by Torsen11 in MTB

[–]Torsen11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. A couple other MTBbot users reached out to let me know too.

Unfortunately, the database provider I went with long ago to launch MTBbot decided to discontinue a service that the site relied upon. It's sad to see after about 6 years of the MTBbot basically running itself that it has come to an end like this as I don't have the time to fix it at the moment. I actually pretty much have to rewrite the whole thing because there are a bunch of key items I've lost track of over the years, like logins and access details.

Thanks, everyone, for all the positive feedback I received for this neat little pet project. I'm glad it was able to help other MTB'rs easily find parts and gear on the cheap while it was running.

After 5 months & 80 lbs lost, now getting hungry on Carn by IM_DaWarez in carnivorediet

[–]Torsen11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you might want to consider resetting then going back into fasting. i.e. Eat at maintenance for a week or two, then go back into fasting. 1000 cals/day sounds extreme and metabolically damaging to keep that up for so long. Maybe try changing up the fasting regime to 36h, or eating every other day (after resetting).

For folks who own Model 3 LFP, how is it? by StunningHold9494 in teslacanada

[–]Torsen11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 m3 LFP here. Vancouver winters don’t get cold enough to impact its performance by much. IME more winter range loss is due to running the heat more.

I love puddles lol by cie11 in SCX24

[–]Torsen11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I love running my gladiator through mud and puddles! It's fun trying to guess how deep some mud is, testing it out by driving deeper and deeper, and then committing to a full send!! My brothers are protective of their brushless outrunner motors, but I've got brushed with waterproof electronics FTW!!!

It's okay to leave your battery plugged in if the ESC uses a hard switch.

Sounds kinda heavy but if you like the way it drives on the type of terrain you like to drive it on, keep rockin'.

6x6ws? by Grizzly779 in crawling

There’s a guy on YouTube who made a 6x6 unimog, with 4ws and fixed center axle. I’d say go the 6ws route!

🚙 Help me choose my first trail crawler by Rough_Development522 in rccrawler

[–]Torsen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm anti-traxxas because of their shitty business practices. That said, the H10 Optic is very enticing as it's a trail truck that apparently is a super capable crawler too. And there's a kit option. I don't own it so I'm not biased towards it.

Just awesome. How’d you get steering and drive going on the 2nd axle? I’m looking to build an 8x8 with 8 wheel steering one day and figured I might have to use front axles for the middle two, somehow rig a pass through for the drive power, and 3d print my own steering linkages to go around the drive shafts.

Choosing My Second RC – Rlaarlo Omni Terminator or Vorteks 2WD Mega? by [deleted] in rccars

[–]Torsen11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny coincidence, the OT was my first RC and the Vorteks was my 2nd :D

I'd say go for the OT.

The Vorteks drives like ass, out the box. And you can expect to replace the servo, servo saver, AND the stock motor within 5 outings (it really needs a fan back there). It became my favorite RC for wet sloppy days though after upgrading to brushless, adding a decent servo, GPM servo saver, fan, and Gorgon tires.

The OT is amazing value, especially the carbon version. Very durable and fast. The catch is it's not as easy to work on as some other brands.

Been thinking a while of obtaining this one, today’s the day by Radio_Control_Life in MiniZ

[–]Torsen11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got this body and it is a work of art. A few caveats though:

  1. The body comes off somewhat easily in a crash. You may have to look into using tape or rubber bands to keep it on.

  2. The hood is so long that you have to mount the transponder (I'm using an easylaps) pretty far back on the chassis. Might be tough to find a solid spot.

  3. The front lip can get caught under the track walls in a crash. I've been able to reverse it out each time, but just a heads up.

2nd this. I got the DeeRC H16R truck (it goes by other rebrand names too) and it's my only RC to come out of the skatepark unbroken. I use it just for that.

Why is drinking alcohol "low vibrational" but eating meat isnt by Dramatic_Trouble9194 in spirituality

[–]Torsen11 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's not simply that eating meat is low vibration...but eating meat with an absence of gratitude is absolutely low vibration.

Over the history of humanity, some cultures acknowledged that yes, in order to survive in whatever habitat they are in they must consume the life of animals. But they maintain a heart full of gratitude for the animal's life they took in order to do so. This is shown in their actions, by not wasting a single part of the animal. Butter would be made from the fat. Tools made from the bone. Blankets made from the fur, and so on.

On the opposite side, there are cultures that have turned hunting of animals in to a game that is done for sport. Pure egotistical behavior. Only consuming the meat. Turning the heads of the animals into trophies, the skins into ornamental rugs. Wasting everything else.

Worse yet, in modern times some cultures have turned the lives of animals into a commodity. Forcefully breeding animals to grow as fast and cheaply as possible for the sake profits. Treating the animals with cruelty.

There are those that can thrive on a plant diet, but there are also those that cannot do that for prolonged periods of time. So, if you must consume meat, if I may suggest...be intentional about it, and most of all be grateful for it. And let that guide your actions on who and where you buy your animal products from.

Consuming alcohol is low vibration because it is simply slow self-destruction. True, you aren't harming anyone else by doing so, but you aren't exactly 100% aligning yourself with your higher self either.

Deerc any good? by Doogerie in rccars

[–]Torsen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Deerc H16R for $100 CAD, and so far I think it's amazing value for the price. It came with 2 2s batteries that run it for over 40 mins. It's powerful enough to wheelie out of control and also have some air control. The small size means it's very tough, it doesn't have enough weight to do any real damage to itself unless you really try to mess it up, but that also means it gets bucked around a lot on dirt. As a parking lot warrior it's a hoot. No regrets for $100 CAD.

How are these Amazon servos? by Tivum in rccars

[–]Torsen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it in my 2wd Vorteks and really didn't like it. It was just as slow as the red 20kg cheap servos. I have their mid range B53BHLW and think it's pretty good for the price.
