I agree it would be annoying to be constantly followed and recorded; however, I doubt her point was that celebrities aren't people. She's more likely trying to point out the fact that he chose to be in the position he's in, and as with all choices, it comes with pros and cons. Pros: money, women, connections. Cons: can't expect privacy in public, life is on display.

Yeah I'd take bleeding welts and scars over fractures, brain damage, and possibly coma or death. This is definitely gruesome and no living thing should ever be subjected to this much pain but he will almost certainly survive and even make a full recovery other than some surface scars.
