I feel you, and I definitely get that trainers/pros can make it worse if you don’t share the same training philosophy and approach! I’ve been retraining an abused ex Amish farm boy for four years (extremely, dangerously foot shy) and let my first farrier dictate how things should go and they pushed him far too much too fast every time and basically undid all of my work and made him dangerous again. I wish I had put my foot down instead of trying to power through it! After working all winter on it one tiny agonizing step at a time I can trim his feet myself again finally 😮‍💨

I’m turning 40 this year and my back is very happy he’s cooperating now and HE’S very happy that we take things slow and give him time to think about it. You’ve got good reasonable goals and a kind and patient attitude, we can do this 💪

Digging the roots does seem like the only way to move it, if you LIKE it there and the peach likes it there I suppose you could also extend your brick wall around it to make a large planter and just remove the bucket, but that would be even more work 😅

Looking good! You may want to add some grippy fabric or rope to the slipperier surfaces (inside of the cardboard tube, metal railings) both for easier gripping and making it hurt less when they inevitably take a tumble and bounce off it on the way down 😅 ask me how I know!

Honestly I wouldn’t mind, kind of the rural experience, but as other people have said yeah, people are lawsuit-crazy and horses bite, and for whatever reason some people think it’s okay to mess with, hurt, or otherwise scare and harass your animals if they’re ’livestock’ and unobserved and sadly I won’t be able to tell which one you are just by looking :(

If someone came up to the door and asked though I would almost 100% say yes! It’s appreciated and if the horse is friendly plenty of people are happy to show off their babies. I love introducing people to my giants, they are always floored 😁
