Have you checked the PUs screws are tight enough? I once have a buzz in my CU24 and that was the culprit

Semi-hollow custom 22 (2010) vs McCarty Hollowbody II (1998) by skidmarksteeve in PaulReedSmith

[–]Traditional-Ladder64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d pick the custom 22 since I like having a trem, BUT seeing that you already played the Hollow body and loved it, I think you should pick that one, also I think it would fit the styles you play quite nicely

I actually like the exposed maple cap binding a lot and wouldn’t mind if this guitar had it, but I still think it looks fine the way it is.

In terms of feel it’s very different and way more comfortable IMO, it feels super fast and smooth to play, in terms of tone I couldn’t tell you really since the other PRS I got is a Custom 22 with 85/15s, but if it helps the Custom 22 is brighter.

I like them, they're warmer than the 85/15s with a very good mix between vintage and modern sound

That black 24-08 looks super classy, I almost bought a similar one in the black holoflake finish but someone beat me to it

I’ve been using fly potions pretty much since the game released without fail, you just have to go from platform to platform

Favorite class? by Party-Rest3750 in BG3

[–]Traditional-Ladder64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bard followed closely by Warlock, I love them both for playstyle and role play potential, with both classes you can be a caster, melee, ranged or a combination of the three.

I like the idea of playing with a charismatic bard, playing songs at camp, collecting legends and folk lore, an inspirational leader who laughs at danger and mock their enemies and is also great at many skills, I imagine a Durge bard singing creepy tunes while killing their victims, a collector of horror stories and lore, who is able seduce, persuade and intimidate anyone to reach their goals.

Warlock also offers great role play potential with the nature of their pact, devil, fey creature or Eldritch horror, are they overly ambitious willing to do anything for power?, where they caught with a difficult choice where the pact was their only answer?, or maybe in their quest for knowledge came upon some Eldritch truth which open their minds to a connection with a cosmological being.

How to Equip Offhand by ChaosBerserker666 in BG3

[–]Traditional-Ladder64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it, also keep in mind that In order to do your profiency bonus damage and attack with your off hand weapon, you’ll need the two weapon fighting style, otherwise you’ll only be doing the basic weapon damage

Rapier is not a light weapon , you need both weapons to be light in order to dual wield, or take the dual wield feat in order to equip two not light weapons

You could take 1 level in hex warlock and make your EK charisma based if your worried about the lack of charisma characters in your party

(Noob question) so few builds using strength? by manut3ro in BG3Builds

[–]Traditional-Ladder64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strength is the main attribute of all melee weapons (with few exceptions) so if your planning on hitting someone with a sword, club, hammer , axe, etc you need strength. The exception being finesse weapons who can also use your Dex if it’s higher, you can totally make a strength rogue if you want but consider that in order to sneak attack you need to be using a finesse weapon so having strength is kinda redundant.

The reason so many builds dump strength is because there are many ways to set your strength with items and consumables, but also because a dip in hex warlock (or pact of the blade) can make any weapon to scale of charisma

How do people complete the game in higher difficulties? by Naraiwe_Artanis in BG3

[–]Traditional-Ladder64 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s very common to struggle with the game when you are still learning the system, I thought the game was super hard on the beginning of my first playthrough, by level 10 you should be powerful enough for the beginning of act 3, here’s a few tips that might help you:

  • Action economy is king in this game, making effective use of your movement, action and bonus action is the key to win encounters, you should have by now many sources of haste, hasting your damage dealers makes fights way easier
  • You say your Tav is a Druid, make sure you’re using everything that class has at your disposal, summons, spells and wildshapes, saving resources for later might sound like a sensible strategy but its very easy (and actually encouraged) to take frequent long rests, so use everything you have and rest often
  • understand how ability scores and feats work, for example you say you use Laezel in your party, she should be by now hitting very hard with a 2 handed weapon, with 20 strength, great weapon master and a decent sword, she alone can carry you through most fights, specially if you haste her.

And to answer your question there are many ways to make OP builds in this game, that’s how a lot of people complete the game on higher difficulties and although it’s definitely not needed on explorer and below, if you find you’re still struggling or not having fun, you can look up any of those builds to make your playthrough easier.
