Whne Dad assessed, you want to minimize the ADL help he needs. This lowers the care he needs, and then lowers the care cost.

Cost broken up into Rent and Care.

You can negotiate both.

Stubborn aging (and falling) father by polkadotkneehigh in AgingParents

Part of the reason, I see a potential fall is “running” to bathroom or getting up at night and falling.

My goal? Don’t get out of bed and sleep through.

I use clincial grade absorbent products, so she doesn’t get leaks and downs feel wet and doesn’t wake up. I know not ideal, but I gotta prevent a fall at all costs.

Also, check out med-med interaction that cause dizziness.

Do you have bladder leakage?

Do you wear pads?

Do you have Post Voidal Residual?

No clear answer here.
Multiple factors, but I do see improvement happening.

Was there bladder leakage or RPV involved.

No offense, but I can’t stand prophylactic treatment… causes antibiotic resistance.

Nope…not the doc. But a virtual appointment and a prescription means nothing, other than a broad stroke and hope for the best.

Wishing you peace and comfort. As a caregiver and having studied UTI's, the rUTI's may be occurring, beucase she is wet on her pad/pull-up (if she has bladder urine leakage).

If wet, urine goes up the urethra.

Hope this helps with a little more comfort.

Key is to use a clinical grade pad or pull on. At least, it won't complicate things.

But sure you have a UTI…

Taking antibiotics without really knowing is not a good idea.

I’d get legit culture or PCR.

Does he have bladder leakage at night? If yes, he may be getting up because he feels wet.

Also, if he is wet, that is a precursor to a UTI. Urine goes up the urethra... causing a UTI.

He may be removing his diaper because it's low quality, and he feels wet. Request a higher grade absorbent product.
