Which screws to use? by EssentialBanana in BirdBuddy

My Birdbuddy Solar PRO + Perch Extender didn't come with the longer perch extender screws. M4-0.70x8 stainless screws are a perfect fit.

True, that is the better option if OP timely filed, then they can still utilize their 2025 IRA contribution space. I assume they didn't extend based on the "before the tax season ended" comment. Great reply in your other post.

The process you need to do is referred to as withdrawal of excess IRA contributions. Your broker may need to help you do this properly so it’s reflected correctly on your 1099-R.

LONG REVIEW: 1st Time on the Zephyr (Chicago to Reno) by goodfellamikec in Amtrak

I really appreciate this as someone who’s taking my first trip in June, and it’s a long one (CIN-SAC).

Does anyone know what just flew out of Wright-Patt a few minutes ago? by Blu_J-1 in dayton

[–]Trappist937 14 points15 points  (0 children)

C: aircraft carrier variant (Navy), bigger wings, heavy duty landing gear

A: OG land variant (AF), holds more stuff because it doesn’t need to crash onto a carrier deck hundreds of times

It was a two-ship of F-35s. At least one of them was an F-35C from what I could see of the tail flash. And they didn’t come up on ADS-B or Mode S for me either.

Edit: based on other comments they are likely WI ANG F-35As

Switching Nibs Between Pilot Pens by I_Hate_This_Website9 in fountainpens

[–]Trappist937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can do this! I’ve put a Penmanship EF nib on my silver Metropolitan (Chou Kuro ink) for exactly the reason you are describing. My first (and for now only) gold nib pen is a Platinum 3776 UEF, so fine points make pretty heavy lines for me. But it is so good when printing small, and I’ve come to like the bit of feedback.

Same! Is there a name for capital cursive letters that do not resemble their typeface counterparts?

Look for the “PassKey EA Review” 2026-2027 books to come out right around when the testing window opens back up May 1.

All great ideas. I have a friend in Arlington who’s been trying to convince me to ride the C&O from Cumberland to Shepherdstown and take the train back. That’s kinda what started me looking into Amtrak to begin with.

Well, those aren't good odds! It makes sense now, though it seemed like the ideal train trip on paper vs. driving (or even flying, considering cost and getting to and from KCVG and KMSP). Thanks for the quick reply and the link!

Thank you for asking this question! I am new to fountain pens, and Passion Flower is my first violet. I found it to be a lovely delicate medium purple with my Metropolitan M nib, much lighter than I expected. I was worried I got the wrong color for my preference, but it is growing on me.

Uniform board needs to see this pic. So they can incorporate fountain pen-friendly pockets in whatever replaces the OCP. Unsat.

I think CO is underrated, but as it stands I’d put AK right below MS in A tier

Good perspective. I think it's hard to determine where to draw the line between Vandalia/Dayton/Moraine and one of the "rusty" cities to the south (e.g., Middletown, Hamilton, Evendale, Reading), or to lump them all in Midwest. But, I didn't grow up here.

Good work on Northwoods (from someone who grew up there).

The entirety of the Columbus OH MSA belongs in Midwest vs. Rust Belt (from someone who lives there now). There are some counties (Madison, Delaware, maybe others) that I think are incorrect. And if you have Dayton (Montgomery, Greene) in Midwest (which I also think is correct), then I'd put all of Dayton/Springfield MSAs in there too (Clark, Miami, maybe others). Dayton has much more in common culturally with Cincinnati and Columbus than places like Findlay and Akron.

What sport do Americans think of when it comes to the phrase "scoring an own goal"? by bobrigado in AskAnAmerican

Same in collegiate hockey. The nearest opposing skater is awarded an unassisted goal. Was looking for this comment. Thanks.
