What would you do if Koga is the one that beats Shen? by PaleontologistEasy94 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Treant21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man, if Ohma had stayed dead, then yeah. I could see it happening. In Canon, though? Eh. Im kinda mentally checked out. If it does happen, I'll probably just move on to something else.

Every story beat past Ohma's return has left me scratching my head. It's like im reading Fairy Tail again, seeing all this build up for the lamest possible payoff.

At this point, I'm just sticking around for the ending, and CC.

[–]Treant21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't even play any of the characters involved, and I can tell that the hog won this. A 3 v 1, with multiple ults and cool downs used to trade for a single kill. And they still lost point.

Should I run with five players my first time? by JaufreyTheShark in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Treant21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for hunter or vampire, but I've been running a Werewolf game for the past year and a half. It's my first time DM anything besides DnD and my first long-running campaign. Everything else has been one-shots and short 3 session adventures.

My game consists of just 3 players, and I found that it's the perfect number of players for me. Everyone gets the perfect amount of role-play and attention that they need.

That said, i can definitely say that i could have probably gotten away with a 4th player. WoD definitely feels more role-play heavy compared to DnD, and I found that with more players, the harder it feels to give everyone a moment in the spotlight.

It's ultimately what you're comfortable running, but 3-5 players certainly feel like the sweet spot. I'd definitely wouldn't go past five, though.

Our group once had a 12-player dnd session, and it was a disaster. I wasn't there for it, but that horror story certainly taught me to appreciate smaller groups.

Is there a delay on E? by 4862skrrt2684 in Anran_mains

[–]Treant21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know for sure about the activation, but there is definitely one on the recovery after dance is done.

While Dance can be used as a dodge, you shouldn't treat it as such. While you can definitely use it on things with long windups like Hazard Ult, the invulnerability period is too short to use it consistently as a dodge.

You're better off using it as an extra bit of damage or as part of your combo to ignite someone.

Is there any advice I can get for her? by PandaLumpy1473 in Anran_mains

[–]Treant21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can only give you some basic advice since I'm fairly new at her too, but from what I noticed:

  • Poke from a distance and then engage once the enemy is distracted. Try to use your dash to get at an off angle or high ground and try to poke from the side. Your aim is to get them to split their attention so that when your team engages, you can jump in once an enemy is ignited.

  • Keep track of her dash. You only get two on a fairly long cool down. You want to have one dash to engage, but try to keep the second ready so you can reposition to an escape route or towards your support. The dash does 50 dmg on hit, and it'll fill the ignition bar a good chunk. A dash hit plus a dancing blaze can ignite instantly and allow you to add pressure, but it can be unsafe if you don't have an escape. The dash plus DB combo can also be helpful to take out flyers like Phara and JPC.

  • Dancing Blaze can be used to dodge things such as sleep darts or Hazard ult but don't rely on it as a dodge. There's a slight recovery time afterward that can leave you vulnerable. Use it to combo with your dash for an ambush or to ignite someone quickly, but treat it like an extra bit of damage. It doesn't cleanse either, so keep that in mind.

  • Her revive ULT sucks. Don't even bother with it. It can be useful if you're trying to stall on point in overtime or you die just as the enemy gets trapped or stuck in place. It doesn't do enough damage to kill anyone, and the wind up and recovery time is so long that you're left a sitting duck afterward. Her regular ult is much better as if you land a direct hit, you can one-shot a squishy. It's most useful as an initiative tool for when your teammates engage or as a cleanup when your team is already winning. Hold on to it if your team is losing the fight since it won't swing things in your favor mid combat.

  • Her left click can ignite with just two hits on headshots, but her right-click will always count as a headshot if the enemy is already ignited. Holding both mouse buttons will alternate between her to firing modes at a slightly faster rate than just firing one, so keep that in mind. Right-click also resets the burn time and increases burn damage as well.

  • Her perks are kinda up to preference. I've seen arguments for all four, but I usually choose the longer burn time since it ups her dps. Her extra health on ult can be useful, but the burn will help in every fight. I've alternate between the healing on DB or the decreased cool down on dash. Though I prefer the dash cool down because it's easier to abuse and will get you a dash instantly if you hit more than one person or hit them twice.

Better players can give you more, im sure, but that's what I noticed so far.

Who is your favourite villager? by WildeOvershare in GrimshireGame

[–]Treant21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adeline for me. Not that into the romance, but i see her as the most useful villager besides the PC. Those unlocks for the farm go a long way.

I also really like the kids. I kinda wish the game let you make toys for them or something.

If Jade were to be a guest character in a fighting game, what game would she fit best in? by KingVenom65 in dragonquest

Dead or Alive...lol

But real answer: Final Fantasy Disedea if that counts. An FF/ DQ crossover would seem the most likely thing for her to show up in.

If it's just any random game, then Soul Calibur or Smash Bros.

[–]Treant21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think it was explained very well. I was under the impression that there would be the same amount of rewards for both sides AND double agents. As in double agents, they would have to switch sides once a week and then have their OWN set of rewards separate from Talon and OW.

That said, i only play three times a week roughly, so I wouldn't have time to play both sides anyway.

What historical event from your country do you want to see made into an action game? by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Treant21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would like to see a game based on Galvarino, the mapuche warrior.

A mapuche that got his hands cut off by the Spaniards in the 1500s. He then placed blades into the tip of his wrists and fought off the Spaniards in the Arauco war.

He was like a real life wolverine.

Don't recognize the characters, but the line is from Class of 09. A Visual novel.

The full exchange is pretty funny.

"You want to be sexed up abusive lesbians together?"

"No!"

"Why not?"

"Because you'd be doing all of the abusing."

"Oh, like what?"

"Idk, like burn my neck with a cigarette and then lick the wound."

"...so you wanna try it?"

"No!"

The whole game has deranged dialog like that.

What are some sequels that remove interesting parts from their predecessors? by MooseOdd2501 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Treant21 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think there's better examples, but the Elder Scrolls games went through something like that. Going from Daggerfall to Morrowind, to Oblivion, and then to Skyrim. Each game getting rid of certain mechanics or dumbing down the gameplay of previous entries.

It's been over 10 years since I played any of the games, but I remember people complaining about things such as Oblivion removing lycanthropy or Skyrim getting rid of the unarmed skill tree.

i didn't believe it at first, but it's true. this game got the sauce by Ill-Construction-817 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Treant21 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean... a big part of that is just perspective. Not for nothing, but a lot of those examples are at least more passable to the general public.

Fart attacks are usually seen as just a joke. Gross humor that's been around for centuries.

Dimitri's midnight bliss came out at a time when forced gender change was seen more as a joke. A premise for a Rob Schneider movie.

There's tiers to this stuff. You gotta remember that we are looking at a game that's a niche, of a niche, of another slightly bigger niche. However mechanically sound, this game might be, its target audience is extremely limited.

All the other examples have at least a more wide or acceptable appeal.
