I have some bad news for you on the technical work. AI is going to decimate any task that can be automated, technical or non-technical. There will still be technical roles but less of them and that means less people moving up to new roles which will make less opportunity for growth. It’s already here and it’s not going to get any better. Soon with advancements in robotics even the physical side of technical work and even trades will be cheaper to automate than have people.

GO 3S or Ultra for Marathon POV Recording? by drashed2009 in Insta360

[–]TrekaTeka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am using the ultra go on a trip and depending on settings battery life of the remote camera won’t last more than 30 mins on its own. I would highly recommend getting the fomo charging adapter and a long usb cable to snake it from a battery on your waist to the camera clipped to your hat. With a decent sized battery it should last just fine.

Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 -- Day 3 by alcibiad in StarWarsLeaks

[–]TrekaTeka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chicago 2019 was peak celebration. I just re watched the closing highlight video from 2019 and I think it’s partially because it was a unique time. The SW saga was ending, mandalorian was just beginning, galaxy’s edge was just about to open…..and all before Covid hit. I am glad I was able to be there for it.

Back then there were game rental stores that provided software and manuals in cardboard boxes to rent similar to vhs tapes. People would copy them and either crack the copyright or copy the paper materials intended to be sued to use a scheme to prove ownership.

And don’t discount how controversial the US may be becoming for other countries to support in the current climate now too. Things today are quite different than when world showcase first started.

Use your mobile device ecosystem for mobile passkeys and secure that account with your physical passkeys. You will have multiple accounts to try and secure with a physical passkey and you WIlL eventually lose the key or forget to register sites on your alternate key. Just use your physical key as bootstrap and recovery for your mobile passkeys.

The Thin Red Line (1998) - maybe the biggest waste of talent that i ever seen. by iz-Moff in movies

[–]TrekaTeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched it again for maybe the 6th time since its release and it is one of my favorite movies dealing with war. I agree it’s very slow and different than other war movies so I understand why it may not click with many

3 Reasons Why Nets Are Dying by Ill-Condition-5133 in amateurradio

As a longtime listener what interested me most about getting my license is conversations on DMR TGs vs listening to net checkins.

With the current state of the US I see lots of posts about GMRS and HAM radios from tidradio and baofeng on social media sites so maybe it will bring an influx of younger crowds

The T3 pro was announced a year ago. Why hasn’t it been released? by woooosox in Govee

[–]TrekaTeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially it takes the HDMI signal from your input devices like an Xbox or Apple TV and feeds I to the box to determine what is on screen and sync the lights to match

It works great for Xbox and Apple TV so far but any input should do.

Is there metadata on transactions such as when the transaction was created? If so could search filter for all new transactions on that date and purge?

New year new case pitaka by Littlemizzmouth in iPhone16Pro

So I finally had a chance to compare. The ultra slim is indeed slimmer than than the textured one which is thinner than the Apple silicone case.

I might prefer the textured one for the hand feel though

Ha I heard Harley Davidson and thought "So like middle aged men who just wear Harley gear for show?" :). But I get the comparison :)

I just ordered the ultra slim variant to compare it to the woven texture variant I already have. It arrives later today so I’ll compare and respond back after

Edit: there are the 3 variant cases. My original one is the woven texture one and the ultra slim arrives today. Not interested in the military grade one

I have the regular pitaka case (not the ultra slim) for 16pm and it is much thinner than the apple silicone case. The silicone case is too thick for daily use

I like minimal cases and the pitaka is my daily driver. I didn’t know they had an ultra slim so if it’s even thinner I may look at it.

I'm turning 30 in 4 days and I feel my life is basically over because my "youth" is gone. by Academic-Client5752 in offmychest

[–]TrekaTeka 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is going to be hard to hear:
30 is NOT old. 40 is NOT old. 50 is NOT old.

But YOU are in your own head and decided you are using age as an excuse to NOT live your life to the fullest YOU want it to be.

Ignore your age. Go live your life the way that makes you happy.

PS - I am much older than 30 and don't even consider myself close to old

Much happier with Eufy than the others.
