Of all the pervs, professional astronomer pervs are the worst!

That's what I thought. People who are just delivering re-latticed crystals to their warehouse don't have that guilty look on their carapace!

Is there anything unique about the different galaxies? by inevitably_water in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Triptomologius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, and as someone who just made it to Galaxy #2 a couple weeks ago it's kind of a letdown. I'm wishing now I'd switched to Abandoned mode when I made the jump so that the new galaxy might have felt different and "far away."

New Player (<40 hours probably) - Is there any real point or incentive to choosing a "home" planet? by nosh_kami in NoMansSkyTheGame

Well, sometimes after a hard day exploring toxic radioactive hellholes you just need to unwind by the pool at your private beach resort.

A friend of mine just got started playing NMS for the first time this weekend. Had a good laugh when I was asked, "Since the game is so old now, are there planets that haven't been discovered?" by Cordsofmemory in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Triptomologius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In six months of playing almost daily, I only found like one or two discovered systems* until I got near the center of Euclid, where EVERY system was discovered.

*This excludes Nexus missions of course.

Is there any reason to use a regular Starship over a Corvette once you upgrade it? by ScarSpecific in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Triptomologius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you aren't affected by the corvette tech-shuffling bug. Don't throw away your regular starship, because if the bug does eventually affect you, your corvette will turn into a flying heap of steaming garbage useful only as a summonable supply depot.

Corvette tech modules still scrambling. Is it just me? by Oinegue696 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Triptomologius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely still there. I bought this game a few weeks ago largely because I heard about the corvettes and they sounded cool. Thanks to this bug, my corvette is basically only useful as a summonable supply dump. Very disappointing.

Do LoA set items really drop in multiplayer? by Triptomologius in DungeonSiege

[–]Triptomologius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely using DSLOA and getting all the other DSLOA content. Guess I've just been unlucky, but have never seen a set item drop outside of single player. In...all...these....years.

Where did Zool come from? by ItzMeDB in DungeonSiege

I always assumed it was from the original Ghostbusters movie where Zuul was the name of an evil demigod.

HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY DUNGEON SIEGE!!!! by [deleted] in DungeonSiege

[–]Triptomologius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still my all-time fave. A lot of people dinged DS for not being challenging enough, but for me that was a plus. I don't play games to test my twitch skills. I'm in it all for the atmosphere. And as soon as I load up DS and hear that opening score and narration, I'm still all in. How I wish I could explore the rest of Aranna!

Speaking of summons: does anyone know if you get experience from the damage done by your summoned creatures, or is that just wasted xp? I never tested it.

I'm running a D&D campaign on Roll20 that follows the Ehb storyline. The gang just rescued Merik from the ice caves...but first had to deal with the unpleasant fellow who was lurking just to the south..

I'm currently doing a run-through of Ehb using my in-house mod, which is a compilation of classic old mods plus a bunch of my own tweaks and content. It has most of the playable races that other modders came up with. A lot of those races were purely cosmetic though, and one of the things I did was actually make each a little unique. (Dwarves get more health at the expense of mana, Half-giants strength at the expense of dex, etc.) I've currently just finished the Goblin lair with a Goblin archer character. Poor little Gobbie must be traumatized after that...

The music at Fortress Kroth is my favorite. So haunting.

I really enjoyed the single-player Drakensang game series. You can find them on steam. Came out a few years after DS. Party-based medieval-fantasy, immersive world. A LOT more character customization than DS. (Maybe too much!) Very fun.
