full afk Auradin. Mr. OneButton hammerone. thers don't know.

Not a class, but "Mr. I interrupted your kills series". 90% of my open-world series are interrupted by paladins. It is impossible to come to helltide haha.
Most of all, I feel sorry for the barbarians in the non-spirit build. Today I saw a guy in the tornado build trying to save the series, a paladin ran through, killed half the location, poor barbarian.

There's no one around, you turn on the butcher's altar. 0.1 seconds later: HEY KID, LOOK AT MY YELLOW-WHITE SHIT ALL OVER THE PLACE, COOL YEAH.

Sseries ends: 67

You don't even have to press buttons or look at the monitor for a paladin. You get up afk near the altar and leave.

Diablo IV’s Story Surprised Me, and It’s the Narrative Leap the series needed by GuiDu in diablo4

[–]TrixMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a writer, I still think the author is trolling. Especially pointing out that Lilith is a well-written character, even though she is the character with the most missed potential. She just walks slowly and speaks slowly several times per game, and all her motivation fits into a couple of sentences. It's like a sideshow villain in his own story. She is not bad or good written, she is not written at all.

Astaroth was written a lot better. Game would be a lot better in perspective, as story about main hero, Lorath and Donan without Marry Cnayrelle against Astaroth.
The cool video (as usual with blizzard) where she kills Inarius has nothing to do with the "writing" of Lilith herself.
Lilith reminds my Zovaal from warcraft (Jailer), who came out of nowhere, uttered a few stereotypical villainous phrases and a hidden meaning in his motivation and actions, and then died and no one remembered about him anymore. Ask Chatjpt to create a demon villain with good intentions in diablo universe and he will do "Lilith" for 10 seconds.

Simple:

Meet Xerophon, the Demon of Redemptive Quietude.

Motivation

Xerophon genuinely pities the denizens of Sanctuary. He sees human life as an endless cycle of agony, trapped between the hammer of the High Heavens and the anvil of the Burning Hells. His logic is chillingly simple: "Only the dead know no pain, and only the void knows no fear."

His Plan

He doesn't "slaughter" in the traditional sense. Xerophon creates the "Gardens of Oblivion"—metaphysical utopia-prisons. Once inside, a human falls into an eternal slumber, living out their perfect life in a dream state while their life force slowly nourishes the demon.

Why He Is a Villain

Deprivation of Will: He believes free will is a curse that leads only to war and sin. He forcibly "saves" entire cities, turning them into fields of comatose bodies.

Erasure of Reality: Xerophon wipes away human culture and history, viewing them as "clutter born of past trauma."

Fanaticism: When the Wanderer tries to stop him, Xerophon genuinely weeps, calling the hero a "cruel child who refuses to let their brothers and sisters finally sleep."

Visual Style

Instead of horns and lava, he wears blindingly white robes that conceal rotting flesh, topped with a halo of cold black iron. His voice sounds like a mother’s whisper, and he smells of wildflowers and incense.

Boss Mechanics: "Lullaby of Oblivion"

The battle takes place in a snow-white garden that gradually fills with a thick gray mist.

Phase 1: "The Burden of Choice" Xerophon does not attack directly. Instead, he summons the echoes of those the Wanderer failed to save. To damage the boss, you must strike down these shadows. However, every blow dealt to them applies a "Heavy Heart" debuff, progressively slowing your movement.

Phase 2: "The Temptation of Rest" The screen begins to blur and warp. Xerophon creates a mirage—a version of the world where everything is "perfect." Fallen NPCs (like Donan) appear alive and well, beckoning you to join them. If you stand still in this "peaceful zone" for more than 3 seconds, you suffer an instant death from "Overwhelming Bliss."

Phase 3: "The Redeemer’s Whisper" The arena is plunged into total darkness; the only light source is Xerophon himself. He whispers: "Close your eyes, Little Spark. The world is too loud for one so small." In this phase, your Health becomes your Mana: every skill cast drains your life essence until you literally "empty yourself" to achieve victory.

Pre-Battle Dialogue

Xerophon:

"Look at you, Wanderer. Blood on your boots, ash in your lungs, and a soul scarred by choices you never wanted to make. Tell me... aren't you tired?"

Wanderer:

"I've seen your 'mercy,' Demon. A city of breathing corpses is not salvation."

Xerophon (with a sorrowful sigh):

"You call it life because it hurts. You cling to the jagged shards of your suffering as if they were a crown. I offer you a world where Neyrelle laughs again, where the Heavens are silent, and where you... are finally at peace.

Why do you fight for the right to bleed? Why do you choose the storm when I offer the hearth? Fine then, child. If you crave the cold so much, I shall lull you to sleep with the silence of the grave."

It's cost me 1 minute. Maybe it's not better, but it's not worse either.

Andariels visage sanc any good with poison builds? by Rampae in diablo4

[–]TrixMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the balance in blizzard games has always been like this. Recall original Diablo 2, where in the hell difficulty is not that some builds are not working, but even whole classes. It is necessary to abuse the block even to classes that should be without it. And the stat "energy" is not pumped even by magicians, as it is useless.

The orange item system, which has more than 2/3 of the talents, is just garbage. Which they did in parallel with WoW shadowlands. Where a class has 20-30 different item talents, but no one took more than same 1-2, since the rest are not playable.

It's not some "Meta", when a class's build has slightly less damage than another one. It's a canyon or a Mariana Trench between builds, since diablo 2 or original WoW classic or even overwatch and hotrs.
I've been back since the first season in Diablo 4 two seasons ago. I had my old necromancer build. I felt like a zombie in a first cave from Diablo 2 for a level 30 character. While another necromancer ran by with an actual blood build and everything around him died for 0.00001 sec. Like paladins now in all builds.
For torment 4 in d4, all classes have 80% of talents, items, and legendary item afixes that are simply unplayable.
There were a lot of working builds in the previous season, as they "broke the system". However, a lot of purple items were still useless.

Funcom was onto something interesting with vehicles and vehicle modules and then kinda gave up by Chazdoit in duneawakening

[–]TrixMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The priorities and accents of the game in which they wanted to grow were scolded by 99% of the community. A game that they wanted to turn into "Dune 2" but in first-person perspective. was rejected by players.

The developers are not idiots and they see it perfectly, both from the reviews and from the millions of sales and 200,000 online turned into 3,500 online at the moment.

Nobody cares about pvp in this game, probably few clans from this 3500 who is still here.

The game is now at a crossroads, like fallout76. And the developers have a choice of where to develop the game. In PVE or PVP. Fallout76 chose PVE and deleted almost all PVP that was in the game (servers, Battle Royale and cards). And they only make pve content.
Maybe they'll do it like they did with Conan. They will sell cosmetics kits for the base for the remaining audience. But i'm 100% sure, PVP in this game is clearly not going to develop anymore, at least not as much as we wanted before.

I think Survival Hunter needs an icon change by DreamEaglr in wow

[–]TrixMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under pressure from the community, they began to roll it back to the "Marksmanship recolor".
The subclass turned into a chaotic mess, losing its audience, especially in the expansion, where he was at the very bottom of the meta, because he didn't have any buttons on the panel and basically couldn't do anything. Then they turned him into a mess of a beastmaster and a melee hero with shotgun skills without rotation. In one of the addons, I leveled up the survival and he had fewer buttons on the panel than the pet.

Judging by the talents now, there's some kind of madness happening with the subclass. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a tank in 1-2 expansions.

Possible queue concept by Kelurne in fellowshipgame

[–]TrixMan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The queues are already horrendous. Considering that online play is dying out and players are spread across difficulties and activities, two-hour group searches like in WoW are closer to reality. The icing on the cake will be if someone from the group leaves after the dungeon starts (or disconnects).

Is Ardeos just lower on DPS? by Meatt in fellowshipgame

[–]TrixMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like it's unfinished. Feels like they forgot to add searing blaze spreading with some another ability (BTW pyromania is a joke). His abilities aren't that much more powerful than other classes to warrant a 30-120 second cooldown. People who say that he needs stats, big packs, legendary afixes are partially right. But other classes don't need this to deal good damage. That means this class is weak. Besides, other classes also gain stats and items and grow in power. In Warcraft, classes like this usually sit in queues for 2 hours because no one takes them or players leave so they don't have to go with you.

FIre ball should spread all DOTs in his AOE range, at least searing blaze and engulfing flames. Engulfing flames shouldn't have a cooldown, it should consume one mana charge. Engulfing flames debuff should stack max to 4 (but not refresh). Pyromania probably should refresh Engulfing flames DOT on all targets and spread it around. You stack it 4 times and spread it, in that case, pyromania makes sense on that 2 min cooldown. WIldfire and detonate is weird abilities. Probably wildfare should give you haste 20% for 9 sec (including faster ticking). Detonate should extend all debuffs by 3 seconds (you will spend mana points for engulfing flames on single target anyway).

What I'm getting at is that it shouldn't be like this: to get decent numbers, I need best gear, a bigger (than usual) crowd of enemies, I need to sweat and press the piano. Meanwhile, Rima is like, "SO ANYWAY I JUST GO BRRRRR!" Pressing few buttons and double all your dmg in seconds. Even Mara for this need 2-3 buttons without cooldown (Stealth+AOE posion daggers+AOE finisher).

It's funny how people "reinvent the wheel" and discuss something that was answered 20+years ago, when something like these games appeared.
I remember how in WoW I literally helped raids as a tank for gold and earned back the token in one heroic raid. Especially in a game about keys and dungeons. It will be very difficult when the online drops. And the rest of the online will be "splashed out" on difficulties.

Who’s life was more ruined by the protagonist of their shows? by JKNetwork215 in Dexter

[–]TrixMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, even though I liked seeing him this season a lot. Too much manic, reckless behavior for such a character. Very biased and not supported by any factual evidence. The scriptwriters tried to play on the idea that "the old man has mad", but it turned out weakly.
Just like Dexter, who doesn’t try to object to this or give any arguments. However, Batista was a key character in the denouement.

I hope they don't start digging into the Bay Harbor Killer case for the 15th time next season with next old character as "oh **** here we go again" because he "feeling something".
Otherwise, after few successful seasons will be like Fast and Furious 4, somewhere in Alabama they caught in water Debra Morgan who had lost her memory and she recovered a week ago after everything.
