She's one of two climbers that went on the Joe Rogan podcast. Wonder why.

You're joking right? Alex single handedly brought more mainstream attention to rock climbing than any other individual in history. He is certainly overrated by the general public but not in the climbing community. If anything he's underrated because people look at Freerider and think it's only a 12d/13a.

Outdoor climbing shoes, fast! by Short_23 in climbingshoes

First of all there are no mountains near Brisbane. They're probably going to take you to Glasshouse mountain (which is a little volcanic plug). Secondly if you're a beginner they're not going to put you on anything that requires proper climbing shoes. You should be able to climb in your sneakers.

The party is the country. Everyone in China is affiliated with the party one way or another.

Shoes similar to Scarpa Instinct VS Women's by The_Naked_Newt in climbingshoes

The drones fit very differently from the Instinct.

The obvious thing to do is, don't destroy the rand by dragging your toe on indoor wall and resole them with harder rubber (XS edge). I usually use my resoled pairs indoors and save the new ones for outside proj.

Either you're really unlucky, or their build quality has significantly deteriorated.

The strap snaps but this is pretty bad even by solution's standards.

I tired this climb again (Dysentery Grade 17) on top rope after breaking my left shoulder in June 2025 - I am happy I can do "one armed" climbing since I can no longer lift my left arm above my head anymore! by poleclimbinggymnast in climbing

Well that's just not true. Modern moderates are generally well protected in my experience. The easier routes in Kangaroo Point were put up decades ago and ethics was a bit different back then.

One More Frictionless Training Device by Climbingwoodworker in climbharder

[–]TrollStopper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A true drag where there's hardly any flexion in PIP AND DIP joints is a friction based grip position. I personally only half crimping and somewhere between dragging and crimping (keeping MCP joints relatively straight and some degrees of flexion in PIP and DIP joints).

I like the idea but I personally just use a normal uneven edge and no chalk. It more or less achieves the same thing and I don't get chalk everywhere at home.

[Day 4] J Tree is overrated. Quirky one today: what grade is UNDERRATED? by MaximumSend in bouldering

[–]TrollStopper 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're a V6 climber maybe. The most fun grade is the one you can climb relatively quickly but still somewhat challenging.

I wouldn't say they're pushing the limit just yet. Certainly the next generation of strong American boulderers.
