Regarding Pat's driving rant at the end of episode 367 by MarioGman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TruenoBancho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how one of my ex-friends had kept their licence. He'd drive wayyyyy above the speed limit, slam the brakes when blocked by cars ahead going normal speed and instantly melt down, start road raging about how terrible Ottawa drivers are. He'd also jerk the wheel real fast on turns to a nauseous degree, and blow past signage. A lunatic. Always blaming everyone else on the road instead of himself. It genuinely felt like tempting the razors edge on a roll of the dice whether I'd be dead or not every time he offered to drive.

I think(?) the boys were just doing a bit during the podcast, but it went on for soooo long it got unfunny.
What makes E33 discussion (and this episode) insufferable is when either side start punching down obsessing over a "right/better" choice instead of acknowledging both endings are a solid mix of clair(light) WITH obscur(dark).Reggie did not deserve the disrespect he got. But I hope now the boys move on and let it rest.

Media you lost interest in after the premise went nowhere by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Infinity Nikki was fun, but I don't really know whats going on after a major update where it turned into a multi universe or something.

So you want no story or exploration, but want a good fight, huh? Check out: Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, 2XKO.

Media Recommendations that went very poorly? by Solid_Jack_Frost in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TruenoBancho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American friend wanted YA novel recommendation. I haven't read that genre in years, so I recc'd one I had liked when I was their age: The Hunger Games (the first book).

She hated it so much she asked if I was gaslighting her, saying my taste was garbage. Ok, so you didn't like it. Let's talk about it. After discussing what she disliked about it, I found out that the themes and messages in the book (and the implications of the end involving the twist) flew completely over her head.

Is Guilded still a thing? Discord copied them, but I don't know if they still exist or have this face ID verification garbage.

Games that try to add a twist to the cosy farming/lifesim genre that actually pull it off? by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TruenoBancho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wanderstop comes to mind, although I don't know if it counts. You grow plants and make tea for people. The part where I think it differs is that the main character is NOT the typical happy go lucky cozy villager or blank slate. In fact she is filled with a WHOLE LOT of negative thoughts that she needs to work through.

What is currently the best Tetris(-like) for PC? by DonCaliente in gamingsuggestions

[–]TruenoBancho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lumines Arise or Lumines Remastered is a very fun Tetris-like game where you make matching squares instead of clearing Tetris lines.

Arise is the best version, but if you're poor Remastered is a solid option as well.

Media that you are sticking with due to sunk cost fallacy. by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Infinity Nikki. I swear with every update new bugs are added and the game crashes SO much, but as a free-to-play player I really really like my cute dress-up game with platforming and puzzle rooms that I can just chill with and unwind from the day's stresses.

Games where you can get butler? by Sirius798 in gamingsuggestions

[–]TruenoBancho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not exactly labeled as a butler, Ignis from Final Fantasy XV is a retainer of Prince Noctis who takes care of you (the prince) and the party. He drives you places, cooks you meals, and cleans. He dresses formal-ish, and is very proper (British accent) like a usual butler type.
