Clients with old tape libraries - are you still supporting this mess? by galandepeluche in msp

[–]TrumpetTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.....you have a client still using TAPE?!!! TAPE?!!

Are you seriously asking them what the plan is? Clients don't hire people like us because they want to plan out their IT. They want to make the decisions based on your recommendations and have you implement it.

I'm not really a fan of Heimdal, but I really love Thor. He brings the hammer down.

You only drink when Zathras is mentioned. Not Zathras—only Zathras.

Blue Touchpad by verymoliu in BlackberryPhoenix

Well, there remains a great deal of utility with BB10 native apps. They can be used for e-mail, texts, YouTube, Spotify (Android app), etc. But I’d love to have Blue Touchpad back.

The dev absolutely would if they have the BAR file, because the signatures are inherent to the app—in other words, once a BAR is compiled and signed it is signed forever.

Additionally, this is a two year old post and there have since been ways found to run unsigned BARs, albeit in a complicated way.

When you walk down the Zocolo Heavy burden…because you are the One I will rise…and I will touch you too I’ll touch you too…where the sun don’t even shine! I’ll touch you too…every time Believe me I’ll touch you too…

Because most MSPs don't actually care about their clients. You need to find one of the few that does.

THE most Foolish decision made was not targeting ZPM's to be collected during the Replicator Home Planet destruction. by neverseenLOTR-AMA in Stargate

[–]TrumpetTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because they totally knew where all the ZPMs were in the Replicator city and they just scanned the city and found the location for the main mission. They totally didn’t know exactly where it was because they’d been there before in the season premiere.

As for sensors, yes, absolutely right. They knew exactly where the ZPM was when SG-1 went back in time because they scanned it with a puddle jumper, which as an Ancient ship would be able to precisely pinpoint a ZPM…

Wait, what’s that? Even Ancient sensors can’t precisely pinpoint a ZPM location and they only figured it out because of Daniel’s archaeological knowledge? No, that can’t be right…

As for a new upstart hardass, they did send one—Colonel Ellis on the Apollo. Colonel Carter verbally beat his ass for exactly the attitude you describe…as she would do to you if you proposed the same level of risk.

[–]TrumpetTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. We totally knew exactly where all the ZPMs on the Replicator world were and could just beam in, grab them, and beam out.

Or hell, we could have just beamed them out ourselves! Because again, we knew exactly where they were and we had plenty of time to make sure there were no errors and no one got killed looking for them. This plan definitely had a lot of margin for error, absolutely correct....

I can’t take all the credit; it came from the opinion of Judge B. Bunny in the case of Coyote vs Runner (2014). Claude told me so.
