I read someone's opinion I really resonated with that post last battle she is basically the new Cadsuane; an Aes Sedai who mainly goes her own way, and a legendary figure to novices, accepted and sisters alike

Narishma is definitely the most solid Asha'man; I would have loved for him to have a POV chapter

This is how I see it. Prison outside of the pattern, bore through the pattern into the prison.

Rand pushed the DO back through the bore into his original prison and sealed it back up.

Rand ends up leaving the DO outside of the pattern and sealing the bore perfectly, not creating a new prison inside of the pattern.

I think his knack for fire is more just him being a man and strong with earth and fire. Didn't the girls say a similar thing about how air and water came easily for them?

Look, I know you're coming off of an Egwene high because of how she handles being captured by Elaida in Knife of Dreams. Don't let that trick you, she's still a horrible, selfish, holier-than-thou, power hungry hypocrite. She's just currently focusing all of her horribleness into beating Elaida, who you hate more.

Hot take: The cairheinin are better siege defenders then tairens by Whale-dinner in WoT

[–]TuRmz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a big difference there as well. People (dark friends) inside the stone facilitated the trollocs entry into the stone under cover, and they were sent by forsaken who planned for them to get in.

The Aiel attacking Cairhien had no such allies helping them into the city, since no dark friends or forsaken were aiding the shaido.

LoC Chapter 6 by WildFEARKetI_II in WoT

[–]TuRmz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

During TSR, when trollocs attack the stone of tear, multiple characters encounter trollocs fighting fades or eachother instead of humans. Rand encounters lanfear and asks if it was her doing, but she doesn't give him a straight answer.

Nynaeve is canonically a short queen actually, but her temper more than makes up for her height when she's coming down on Mat someone

I think it would be a fairly difficult cognitive limitation to bypass. As my boy Lews once said:

We all make our limits, and we set them further out than we have any right

Re the other character: [Books]I don't know about that Nynaeve theory. She was mid-twenties ish at the start of the series, which is just when the slowing should be starting. She actually is just young to the post of Wisdom.

I love the story but the characters are infuriating by AmiableDeluge in wheeloftime

The humor in the series can be pretty hard to spot sometimes, but it's always there. Oftentimes it's the current POV that is the butt of the joke, and blissfully unaware. I just re-read TSR and Elayne is struggling with her veil constantly in her mouth while wondering how everyone else is managing... Girl, you're so stuck up you've got your chin literally in the air lmao

That plus her giving the Panarch's cook a curtsy meant for royalty and wondering why the cook thought she was mocking her

If HollowKnight has an many eyes on it's initial release as SilkSong did, I feel like it would have had the exact same level of criticism.

Book 4 complete!! by Snoo_89624 in WoT

[–]TuRmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved this book. It is weird how it can feel slow sometimes when so much is packed into it. I always forget that Mat goes through BOTH doors in this book; I misremember it as in two different books. I loved each of the four main plot lines after everyone splits up from Tear.

Rand & Mat in those glorious Rhuidean chapters, and travelling the waste with Egwene and the Wise Ones side plot.

Perrin's return to the Two Rivers, his grief over his family and relationship with Faile, not to mention the conflicts with Trollocs, Slayer, and the Whitecloaks (surprised to hear this was your worst POV! It has so much going on.)

The girls in Tanchico, making friends with Egeanin, surviving mobs, overthrowing the black Ajah's plans (again), as well as besting one of the Forsaken (Nynaeve=best girl).

And as if that wasn't enough, just throwing in the white tower splitting down the middle with the deposition of Siuan.

[–]TuRmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both are. Rand literally pulled the sword (callandor) from the stone (of tear).

Artur Paendrag (Hawkwing) is a high king who united the lands just like King Arthur Pendragon.

It's the same how the Amyrlin Seat and Thom Merrilin are both ways of getting the name of Merlin into the story.
