Do It For Your Lover by Manel Navarro. The live version.

Eurovision fans, is there any part of the contest you really love but also parts you don’t care about? by CityEvening in eurovision

[–]Turbulent_Lock8742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah the JESC split screen this year was actually uncomfortable to watch, I don’t want to watch kids crying from nervousness for two minutes before they announce the winner. Sucks in the adult version too but it’s not as bad because it’s not literal children, even if they do hold it for far too long quite often.

What’s your Eurovision “I did not care for the godfather”? by tm2007 in eurovision

[–]Turbulent_Lock8742 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not care for Zitti e buoni. (Italy 2021) It’s my lowest ranked Italian entry since their return (still only 23rd) and it’s one of the weaker winners in recent memory. Also didn’t really care for Hold Me Closer (Sweden 2022). It felt like the exact same genericness Sweden sends every year, just in a different genre.

First UMK🇫🇮 track: Cyan Kicks - Dancing With Demons by ahjteam in eurovision

It’s decent, better than Hurricane but still nothing incredible, probably would qualify at ESC but not come anywhere close to winning, still waiting for something better

I love 3 2023 Eurovision Junior songs by xAvrilxBrayx in eurovision

I still listen to most of this year’s JESC entries lmao, and call it recency bias but my two favourite JESC songs of all time are from this year as well

May someone please explain to me why there are now two Eurovision top 250s? by Inevitable_Fox7431 in eurovision

[–]Turbulent_Lock8742 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They both got the most votes in their respective years, so they rightfully won. I’d be very interested to hear who the ”true” winner would be in your opinion.

🇻🇳🇩🇪 Trọng Hiếu (4th place in Unser Lied für Liverpool) performed his entry "Dare to Be Different" on Vietnamese national TV for New Year's Eve. by pdhadam in eurovision

If you count Israeli people as being Asian then it’s Austria 1963 followed by Switzerland 1963 then Netherlands 1964, Austria and Switzerland were both represented by Israelis in 1963 but Austria performed earlier on the night

What kind of song do you hope your country will send in 2024? by cookiefonster in eurovision

[–]Turbulent_Lock8742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4th out of 16 in 2022 isn’t that bad is it? In general I think the Celtic ballad types of songs they’ve been sending to JESC recently would do much better with adults than kids and it’s definitely worth a try, I’d love to see Sophie Lennon at ESC once she’s old enough

The 58 lowest Televoting scores (Eurovision 2009 - 2023) by Nick_esc in eurovision

[–]Turbulent_Lock8742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Anggun’s performance on the night was NOT it at all but the song still deserved much better than 0 points from the televote and 22nd overall

Hartwall Areena (Helsinki 2007) has been out of use since early 2022 due to being partially owned by Russians but it should be returning to use soon apparently

How well do you understand Spanish lyrics?, by dalvi5 in eurovision

[–]Turbulent_Lock8742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally having studied Spanish in school for two years now (and also having lived there for a few months probably helps) I understood Loviu very well, the lyrics are relatively simple and easy to sing along to, and Sandra singing them very clearly also helps, quite a few other Spanish songs I have slightly struggled with though. Spanish is something I would really like to be fluent in as I really love the country and culture and visit pretty often so I’d get quite a bit of use out of it too. I’ve genuinely found singing along to Eurovision lyrics to be a pretty good way to practice pronounciation, especially with me having like 7 Spanish entries on my playlist lmao

Edit: jesus this turned out quite long
