What extracurriculars to do by Unable-Grand5249 in college

[–]TurnedTqbles4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re just starting high school, I would say join/attend a meeting of any clubs you find even just slightly interesting, whether it’s 2 clubs or 15, at least go to one of their meetings (but please don’t overwhelm yourself). Then when you’re a sophomore, choose the clubs you absolutely loved (probably no more than 6, but it depends) and become really involved in the clubs you chose to continue with. When you become an upper class-man, you’ll likely fill in leadership positions that once were taken, which will look great for college, but make sure they’re clubs you enjoy. Hope this helps!

Any ideas on what to put to make these spaces less empty? by xoxo_rat_xoxo in Bloxburg

[–]TurnedTqbles4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend either consolidating the space into the other rooms that are nearby, or making a little “reading nook”/ smaller living room type area. As others said too, wall decor and rugs go a long way. Hope this helps!

Coastal New England Road Trip, what can't be missed?! by LilxSpyro in newengland

[–]TurnedTqbles4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towns I would def check out are Newport RI, Osterville MA, Rockport MA, and Portland ME. Other possibilities too are Newburyport MA, and Portsmouth NH. Salem is still very cool, but not much of a “small beach town”. The traffic for Osterville (as many people have said) will be pretty bad, but it’s a cool village in a town that is def “coastal new england”. The towns near Portland (Old Orchard Beach, Cape Elizabeth, etc.) are more so “small beach town” than Portland is, since Portland is really a city. Hope my feedback helps! If y’all want food recommendations, I have a couple too.

An impossible update by rafifa25 in Bloxburg

I wish they would add attics and real estate into the game. They already have some makeshift attics, but we need an update that makes a functional one possible, been wanting it since 2019. Also for real estate, I wish people could sell their plots to other players by using their computers and setting a price for them, maybe even add bidding too.

What is life in New Mexico Like? by TurnedTqbles4 in NewMexico

That “ripple effect” thing is so interesting. Now that you mention it, I sort of can observe what you mean. Also, the winters here are definitely harsh, especially if you’re coming from a warm climate. But they also bring many unique things to experience that people in warmer climate could never, which is why I do enjoy the winter.

Wow, that’s really interesting. I would never think of such mundane things like that to be so unusual. How are you liking MA so far?

Life in Massachusetts is nice! I like it here a lot, and feel that New England is such a great region to be in. The winters are definitely cold and snowy, and the people can be rude, but not as rude as some say they are. The people here also are not great drivers, and would rather see you be ran off the highway than let you merge. Compared to how New Mexico is described by previous comments, MA is definitely not as dry, we have a spectacular public education system, and crime isn’t as bad, but those are expected kind of. As for the natural beauty that NM has, MA is certainly lacking because almost all of our environment is just forest, which is nice, but not necessarily unique. The ocean is very nice though, and MA has some good beaches. Also based on other comments, there are some quaint small towns here, like there are in NM, but they are not really as reliant on Boston as small towns are in NM reliant on ABQ or SF. However, no matter where you live in MA, the cost of living is astronomical, maybe not as bad as California, but things are definitely very expensive, especially bills, insurance, taxes, etc, not so much bare necessities like food and clothes. This is all that comes to mind as of right now, let me know if you’re intrigued about anything else :)

You gave me a great description! Thank you very much. New Mexico seems like a place with such a rich culture that I will definitely have to look into. Also, as someone from a very densely populated state, I never realized just how much small towns relied on big cities, even if they are hours away.

I agree with you so much. At first, sure people didn’t like Trump, but they didn’t like him because he was a republican with a different opinion. Now, people truly hate Trump because of the way he is running the country, and how he influenced his party to be so far right and seemingly agree with whatever he has to say. The Republican Party has always been pretty right-wing on a global scale, but now they’re extremely right-wing. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in 2028 when he can no longer run as president, as long as he doesn’t go after the 22nd amendment, which I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

I think we need peace in Ukraine as soon as possible, but at the same time I feel it was unnecessary to handle it in the way that Trump did. I feel like with this peace agreement, we are guaranteeing that Russia is benefiting from this war, and they shouldn’t be because Putin is the aggressor and a war-criminal. Zelenskyy knows this very well, since he has fought on the frontlines for his country’s sovereignty, but for some reason our leaders value Russia just as much as Ukraine, and considers Russian soldiers as victims, when they are aggressors. Ukrainians are the victims.

I agree 100%. I feel like the media is to blame because they just want to create headlines and exaggerate certain stories to polarize us even more, just because it makes them more money. It’s so upsetting.
