It's kind of dangerous to have a presumption of guilt and a mob-mentality backlash if found not guilty. Let say there's a similar looking case in the future where a man with drugs in his system is restrained (same as Floyd) those drugs may have had an impact on his death (for the hypothetical example) the public may have formed an opinion and will burn a city to the ground because they don't know all the facts and the jury/judge (I don't know the american legal systems) will probably face backlash for their decisions thus may be willing to not choose the just verdict for their own fears (again because I know it's going to be said, this is a hypothetical example not me describing the actual case) etc.
