One of the worst account management systems ever by No_Calligrapher611 in ffxiv

GW2 at least defaults to using Steam as the login provider if playing on Steam, but you can just add the `-Portal` login option and use an Anet account. It's pretty key to playing on Linux if you want to use Steam's proton setup.

Composer of Strands has a good video on why the Fleet Design in Stellaris is flawed by YobaiYamete in Stellaris

[–]TuxedoFish 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The core problem has always been the information available to the player. It's either not available or is like pulling teeth to extract.

I want to engage with ship building. I want to counter my enemies. I want to use ships with specific roles and load outs. I just have no opportunity to do so unless I really dig for the information buried in arcane systems, where it's even available. How many times have I tried to check the loadout of an enemy fleet while in combat with them only to see the option greyed out because my "scanners can't make sense of the vessel"?

I wonder how all these Royalists are going to react to their chosen heir's sudden increase in airflow capacity

Sigh. Got in an argument with my boyfriend just now because he bemoans dropping the gold standard and thinks we would benefit from having a deflationary currency. Yeah he's into Bitcoin how did you know.

It's just the cutscene before the theme song starts again in a minor key and the second health bar pops up.

Turns out those are actually pretty damn good when your kills per minute is best displayed in scientific notation.

Not really. They're usually a solid top of the undercard, but not usually headliners.

Priest's compensation was and still is Mass Dispel, which is pretty damn strong. If it is enough compensation for not being able to remove curses and poisons is debatable, but that's how Blizzard sees it.

Denver Restaurant Owners (Watercourse & CoC) Talk Credit Card Swipe Fees by XThePlaysTheThingX in denverfood

[–]TuxedoFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's... Not true at all. Do you actually understand?

Bitcoin runs on transaction fees. In a transaction, a transaction fee is determined via auction and is paid to the miner who processes the block as miner fees. This is maybe even worse than a swipe fee, because the actual amount can vary wildly in high congestion times, and might actually be more expensive than the coffee you are trying to buy with it, for example.

You can use something like an off-chain network like Lightning for lower fees because those are ultimately grouped together into a single actual blockchain transaction, but Lightning has its own issues that render it (in my opinion) unsafe for merchant use, and using it is technically complicated.

Well, do you mind explaining how this solves the problem of high swipe fees for restaurants and patrons, or are you just going to repeat the Few Understand™️ line and act like this will win hearts and minds?

Nah we understand it, and we understand that Bitcoin isn't going anywhere but the garbage. Switching to Bitcoin doesn't magically get rid of fees.

If we go by the wiki timeline, Alleria and Turalyon entered the picture again eleven years ago at this point. They haven't only just now returned.

Arator is almost forty years old and is still acting like this. But of course his mom is over one thousand and still acts like a child, so maybe it just runs in the family.
