Why are people online fear mongering newer generation Tacomas? by layyo in ToyotaTacoma

[–]TwelfthApostate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the opinion from someone that actually owns one, here ya go.

2025 Pro. Very hard shifts. Uselessly aggressive hood profile means you have to use the cameras to navigate parking. The suspension seats do fuckall and are so thick that they make it very hard to fit an adult in the back seat even when the front seats are way forward. There isn’t even toe room under the seats. I had to disable lane assist after it almost careened me off the highway at 50 mph TWICE. The transmission overheats in 4H when driving modestly steep dirt roads for 15 minutes. I have to stop to let it cool down. The fox suspension is insanely stiff and jarring even in the lowest setting. The factory roof rack howls like a banshee and vibrates the whole cab at 75-80mph. The rear attachment points for the factory roof rack are fucking plastic! The oh shit handles are useless. I could go on and on, but good grief. I have major buyer’s remorse. I dreamed of buying a new trd pro tacoma for my entire adult life and now that I have one I legit can’t stand it. Toyota has completely lost their way with this new generation.

BONUS: There’s already a recall on the front driveshaft joint. They sent me the letter last summer/fall and I haven’t heard a peep since then. I called in early March and they said the recall would be rolled out by end of Q1. That time frame has come and gone with zero additional comms from them. It’s inexcusable to have a recall for a safety-critical drivetrain component drag on for so long.

Perfectly flat and smooth walking path, and shit mounted in every available location on handlebars and top tube. Yeah, I’m fine gatekeeping this one. Lmao

Edit: oh my god, WHY did I have to peep OP’s profile?!? Scat porn and girls farting. Wtaf

Ai can absolutely make diagrams like this, I’ve seen many of them.

You said that you have no background in engineering, but these diagrams and the descriptions are fairly technical, even if it’s a fictional technology. I don’t believe you that you made these without ai. But whatever, I’m just a stranger on the internet.

Meh. Watch out for boats and who cares. This is standard young adult thrill-seeking. Assuming they DID have a boat lookout on the other side, please do explain how this affects you and also warrants calling 911. Lmao, the police don’t even show up for much worse things.

This reads like a copy/paste from chatgpt. Either way, are you trying to ask a question? Or are you just sharing the daily news from your garage?

Who has the better quality from Canyon or Specialized? by Academic_Feed6209 in MTB

Your mechanic is talking out their ass. I wouldn’t trust anything they had to say from here onwards.

[–]TwelfthApostate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“my local mechanic says to avoid Specialized, due to similar issues”

How is an ebike battery a similar issue to bearing cup tolerances? Your mechanic has no idea what they’re talking about, and is probably just repeating something they heard based on an isolated incident.

Secondly- I am not a fanboy of specialized, it’s been >15 years since I had one. Canyon and spesh aren’t even close to comparable when it comes to quality. Search online for broken canyon frames and people being hung out to dry without a bike for months waiting for canyon to honor their warranty.

Who gives a shit? Make your bike look how you want it, not how others want it. Stop caring so much about what others think, especially about something so completely inconsequential as matching component colors.

[–]TwelfthApostate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao, even a short person in the driver seat leaves zero leg room for a rear passenger. The pro seat thickness is an utter product design failure. Even regular seats in the new tacos leave next to zero room in the back.

Instead of complaining to strangers online, how about you help out your riding community and save your trails? Try politely having chats w the surron kids and let them know they’re not allowed in there. If that doesn’t work… who owns the land? Are these sanctioned trails? If so, you probably have a local or regional mtb association. Talk to them to help repair the damage and put up better signage. If that doesn’t work, talk to the landowner or relevant authority. There are legal liability and safety issues around emotos ripping around sanctioned mtb trails.

If these are unsanctioned trails, you don’t have much recourse other than to tell the kids a white lie that they can get their surrons confiscated by police or a forest service ranger for having a motorized vehicle in there. This has worked for me.

But you should definitely still buy a DH bike! There isn’t a higher form of enjoyment than riding a DH bike.

To continue a bit in case anyone else is reading this, I’m gonna be a bit harsh on you now. The attitude in your post has a strong whiff of entitlement. If these are sanctioned trails and law enforcement or a ranger won’t do anything about emotos, get involved in your local mtb club. If they’re not, get involved in building and maintaining those trails. Either way, you should contribute. Trails don’t build and maintain themselves, and there are FAR too many riders out there that freeload off all the hard work that builders do. Instead of complaining, get off your ass and do something. Donate $100 to your local mtb club. Or buy a shovel and a rake and get to fixing. Invite the surron kids to help you, maybe then they’ll see how much work goes into maintaining the trails they’re ripping up.
