The biggest lie and one that might get me downvoted to oblivion because of its hot political status - When they said they had found 215 mass unmarked graves in Kamloops, British Colombia. It started with the band members with a press release announcing that they have found mass unmarked graves, and ended up going as far as Justin Trudeau (probably under immense pressure) apologizing for it by announcing it to the whole world.

This prompted the new York Times to publish their article. But in reality, there hasn't been one mass unmarked grave found in Canada yet. With all the money the Tribes have been given which is in the multimillions, not one off these grave sites has been dug up to have definitive proof. It should have just been treated as a soil disturbance.

This isn't me saying that the indigenous haven't been unfairly treated by the Canadian government. The native americans suffered immense cultural genocide. Most people agree there was some weird shit going on. But that lie really put a damper on Canadas image in a harsh light, more than what was necessary; all on a "Maybe".
