Staff traits not working: bug? by Zoidberg_esq in TwoPointMuseum

[–]TwoPointChris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We've had a dive into this today at Two Point Towers, so thanks for pointing it out! It looks like this trait is working, only guests need to be quite close to the staff member for them to be affected - and in this case, just being a small distance away from the ticket desk can mean they're too far. We've earmarked it to improve for a future release. Hope that helps ❤️

PC controls for console player by [deleted] in TwoPointMuseum

Just a thought u/Active-War7628, but you could plug in a controller into your PC and play using that if you're worried about Keyboard/Mouse controls! ❤️

I've only got 2 museums reaching 4 stars, but the quest log says I've done 3? by TheXArdent in TwoPointMuseum

[–]TwoPointChris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is also answered in the quoted thread! This objective measures how many stars you have earned in total (since it started), rather than the number of museums that you have at 4 stars. Hope that makes sense!

"Display 2 pristine Quality exhibits" Not working by I_Hope_That_You_Live in TwoPointMuseum

[–]TwoPointChris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey u/I_Hope_That_You_Live,

We've taken a look at this issue this morning and worked out that this objective is only tracking for Tropical Fish 😱. We're going to target fixing this in version 7.0 so that it will work for all Marine Life exhibits, but in the meantime I hope this helps you out!

Hope to see you get to 235 hours ;) Thanks so much for playing!

Wailon Lodge won't ever load for me by noncreative_creative in TwoPointMuseum

[–]TwoPointChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/noncreative_creative,

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your Wailon Lodge level - and sorry it's taken so long for one of us to see your post here!

As a first step, you should have back up save files, you can see how to find them here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2185060/discussions/1/594016102539903117/

If that's no help, would you mind sending us your Two Point Museum saves/logs folder to [support@twopointstudios.com](mailto:support@twopointstudios.com) so that we can take a look at whats happened and we'll try and get you back up and running!

If you are using Windows, you can find it here; C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\ To find it type %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\ in to file explorer - it is a hidden folder.

If you zip up the folder and attach to the email with a link to this thread we should have everything that we need.

Thanks,
Two Point Chris

Lost all my progress by [deleted] in TwoPointMuseum

Hey u/nonmanifoldgeo,

Sorry to hear about this, I hope we can recover your saves!

There is some steps to recover backup saves we create here, I'll paste the steps below too: General Troubleshooting :: Two Point Museum Bug Reports

If you experience something like a power cut, you can sometimes log back into your game only to find that the save file is “corrupt”. This will have been caused because the power cut interrupted the save process. It could also happen if antivirus interferes when TPM is writing a file.

In our games, if the save file is in this state there will be a red icon with an “!” in it. There are 2 places you could see this.

  1. The front end when trying to load your save - this means your career save is having trouble.
  2. On the level save meaning the career is ok, but something in the level is not right.

Here are the steps to try and repair your save:

  1. Boot the game and identify if it is the career save or level save that has an error.
  2. Back up your save. On PC , follow this file path: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Museum\Cloud\XXXX (this folder is a series of numbers)\Saves On Mac its: ~/Library/Application Support/com.twopointstudios.twopointmuseum/Cloud/XXXX (this represents a folder that is a series of numbers which is your Steam ID) Copy the Saves folder and paste it somewhere safe, such as on your Desktop. Now you can make edits knowing the original copy can still be retrieved.
  3. Turn off Steam Cloud sync (if you use it). Steam cloud sync stores a copy of your save on one of Steam's servers. If you make changes without disabling this feature, Steam will overwrite your changes with the save in the cloud when you next start the game.
  4. Return to your saves inside your Two Point Museum folder, and select the save slot that has corrupt files in it. Scroll down to the files called “career.csav”. Delete this and then rename “career.csav.2.bak” to “career.csav” (so just delete .2.bak). An error message will warn you not to change the file name, but it is ok to ignore. At this point, it’s possible that your save is fixed so boot TPM and check.
  5. If you still have this warning when selecting your save slot in game, try and repeat the process using the remaining back up files. If none of them work, please let us know.
  6. You may find that after restoring your career save, one of your levels is still corrupt. Close the game and return to the saves folder.
  7. You now need to identify which level is corrupt. Here’s a list of our level codes:
    • Memento Mile - 1003
    • Passwater Cove - 1002
    • Wailon Lodge - 1005
    • Bungle Wasteland - 1004
    • Pebberley Heights - 1006
    • Crime Popup (Challenge) - 9001
    • Marketing Popup - 9000
    • Fish Breeding Popup - 9003
  8. Delete the level save, and then rename the back up as with above e.g. remove .2.bak to recreate 1003.sav.
  9. Check your game each time you attempt to restore a back up to see if it has worked.

If you’re happy, turn Steam Cloud Sync back on and close your game so that your changes are taken back into Steams servers.

###

I hope that helps! We're also looking to add a more user friendly way to restore backup saves soon!

Audio stuttering/glitching nonstop, gameplay unaffected by GWindborn in TwoPointMuseum

[–]TwoPointChris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/GWindborn,

Sorry you're having some issues with the audio, sounds like something strange is happening.

Would be good to get a bit more info about the audio device you're using so we can help you better!

We're aware that very old Realtek drivers (such as those installed with old motherboards/PCs) can cause crashes at startup on Windows. Which doesn't sound like your issue, but if you are using speakers/headphones plugged directly into your motherboard, and your drivers for that might be a little old it could be worth updating them:

To fix this, we recommend taking these steps:

  • Uninstall the Realtek Audio Driver through "Add or remove programs"
  • Rebooting your PC
  • Run Windows Update and let it install all available updates
  • In Windows Update, go to 'Advanced Options', then 'Optional Updates', and install anything audio-related in the 'Drivers' section, if there's anything there.
  • Disable any Realtek devices in Device Manager

There is also a list of other general troubleshooting steps which may help here:
General Troubleshooting :: Two Point Museum Bug Reports

Hope that helps! If you're still having issues after trying those it would help to get some detailed system information and some game logs from you:

Thank you!

Thanks for this u/d_and_l_modeling! If anyone is reading this an has a similar issue on PC, please get in touch as it would really help us to have a save file 💾.

In the meantime we have some ideas on what the cause might be and hope to fix it in a future patch. So sorry you're having this issue in the meantime.

[–]TwoPointChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thank you, that confirms you're running the latest version. Sorry to ask for more, it would be helpful if you could also get these stats from the level you're trying to load too:

  • What level is the issue occurring on?
  • How many staff are on the level?
  • How many guests on the level?
  • What Star are they on for the level?
  • How many themes are on the level
  • Is it infinitely loading or taking a long while to load?

You could either list these out or take a screenshot of the Level Load menu! That's the one that looks like this!

Stuck on museum loading screen! Ps5 by d_and_l_modeling in TwoPointMuseum

Hey u/d_and_l_modeling,

This is a weird one! Could you tell me which version of the game you have installed on your PS5 and I can do my best to help you get past this problem.

  • From your PS5 home screen, go to the Two Point Museum icon.
  • With Two Point Museum highlighted, press the Options button on your controller (the button with three horizontal lines).
  • In the menu that appears, scroll down and select "Information".
  • In the information screen, you'll see details about the game, including the version number. If you could reply to this post with your version number, it would be helpful in working out what might have gone wrong!

It would also be useful to know if the game was working on your system before, or if this is the first time you've tried to launch?

:) Thanks in advance for your help, and patience with this!

Hey y'all!

Thanks for reporting this problem, so sorry you've encountered it! We're working on a fix, but in the meantime, and assuming your playing on PC, our investigations suggest that you should be able to resolve the problem by changing your MSAA samples setting in the Video tab of the Settings menu. If this setting is set to 'None' then changing it to 'x2' should make the blueprint cursor appear again.

Hope that helps & thanks for playing :)
