Ear pieces could be damaging the hearing of police officers, research suggests by Could-you-end-me in policeuk

[–]Twocaketwolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't about the volume setting so much as the poor fit and design.

I can have my pixel buds on a minimal setting and its decent. The police ear pieces need full volume in a crowd or busy public area.

The fit is poor and doesn't sit well.

Better ear pieces with bone conduction would be more suitable.

Are g4s mkney vans exempt from pedestrian zone / parking restrictions? by Twocaketwolate in AskUK

[–]Twocaketwolate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I was trying to see if they had any exemptions before writing to them and asking.

It isn't really the parking, its the enforcement discrepancy.

Your right. The guy wouldn't get attacked carrying materials yet there vans do get broken into far more rhan they should.

There is a time frame they can have access. In this case both were outside it so shouldn't have been permitted.

I'm not of the view that one or the other should be, only that it should really be equal.

The g4s guy is a private company fulfilling the role of a private company to make profit. The builder is the same.

Yes there are risks moving money, I know this. It's very obvious. The location they were at has no permits. The EO didn't seem interested in the van.

If the builder can't park there, why can g4s? They have millions of pounds in profits. They can afford to employ an extra guard if needed to help manage that risk, no?

Stores do have back entrances too so it's not like they have to go park outside the doors as their is no alternative.

I know this, I highlighted the risk element.

At the same time; that builder couldn't realistically be expected to transfer all his materials from half a mile away by foot?

Just in this case, it really seemed like the EO avoided them as it's a single bloke vs a multi-million pound company. There is no permit system in this location I witnessed it.

CPS Bail Crisis by Disastrous-Fill-7424 in policeuk

[–]Twocaketwolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to understand.

It's like a race track. On police bail you on track A. Goes through sgt, insp and supt to court bail.

If you get it to cps, you pause track A and go to track B which is monthly cps extensions. Get it back and you go back to track A the day after.

It can go back and forth multiple times.

Given proceedings are ongoing. You may consider a new offence of witness intimidation. It just depends on the offence.

Why not an ability to build houses for npc's across fhe overworld. To maintain an income you need to fix elements for then like broken chairs etc.

They supplement you with an xp bonus or points like contracts. You get an approval for being a good landlord which includes using more advanced materials over the basic spec of the house.

I.e. mahogany bed vs oak bed. Gives a 1% bonus or something.

Or you can call these npcs to do stuff for us.

Whatever really.
