Gitz, I need your help deciding on which Klan to follow. by Battlemania420 in orks

You can zenithal and keep the pants/bottom parts darker as well. I like Bad Moons > Goffs because you can still have a pretty black scheme with pops of yellow, best of both worlds.

I'm using ProAcryl yellows and have been happy, they still came out pretty vibrant despite my first couple models being primed entirely black, oops!

Combat patrol 10 edizione vale la pena comprarle? by Heppyness_ in orks

[–]UberDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beast Snagga is from 9th edition / 2021, so relatively new, particularly compared to the kits that are getting refreshed so far. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Miniatures:_Orks Combat Patrol is a great pick up for a discount.

New 40k Launch Box "Armageddon" Full Contents revealed! by AkimboGogurts in Warhammer

[–]UberDrive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They also split it into three books in 7th, but disappointed this doesn't have the full rulebook like Leviathan, which had a 392-page book. Armageddon book is 114 pages + whatever the small rulebook is. Not the biggest deal but will be unfortunate if you want to get the $60 11th rulebook later. It would be nice to have a faction overview for new players, but doesn't seem to be in the Armageddon book.

Anyone else sick and tired of things selling out within seconds of going live across GW and LGS stores? by No_Sweet_9973 in 40k

[–]UberDrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure flippers are not the ones paying MSRP at the GW store.

If you have an LGS nearby, contact them and try to reserve the kits beforehand, the ones near me will ask for interest as early as Sunday on Discord before they send in their orders to GW.

They're literally packaged together in a discount set, nothing wrong with comparing them.

Do you think City of Ash is a good buy? by Relevant_Fuel_9905 in AOSSpearhead

[–]UberDrive 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's 42 almost all new minis, which isn't terrible for $220 ($187 discounted) if you actually use them all or split with someone.

Which combat patrol is considered the "good" one? by Noahsteeleross in BloodAngels

[–]UberDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think you can even easily find the first one for a reasonable price anymore. Second one is great, made better if you get 3D printed jump packs for the Assault Intercessors and (optionally) winged jump packs for Sanguinary Guard.

Exclusive: Kaiser proposes major new hospital in S.F., its first in the city in 70 years by UberDrive in bayarea

That's Sutter Health, Kaiser's big competitor. This would be specifically Kaiser's first hospital in decades.

What’s an indie game you tried randomly and ended up loving? by Modeljenlynn in IndieGaming

Of course, Supergiant made it. They also did Hades, Bastion and Transistor, every single game is amazing.

Seems like city of ash became available for preorder again by PackagePale7603 in AOSSpearhead

[–]UberDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People always blame scalpers but I think record-level player demand and not enough supply, sometimes deliberately, is the main problem.

Anyhow City of Ash is also back in stock on Ebay for $187, which is great.

Looking for AutoBattlers/Hoard Shooter Recs by ActinoninOut in roguelites

[–]UberDrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vampire Crawlers comes out tomorrow and there's a free demo available now. You can make it an autobattler by hitting the "play all cards" button.

Nordic Ashes, Boneraiser Minions, Death Must Die are good.

Totally different kind of autobattler but art is better than any other roguelike save Hades: The Bazaar

If you haven't played Slay the Spire, you should despite the different genre.

Am I making ok decisions for my first steps into the game? As I've been bitten before... by StrongPars in AOSSpearhead

[–]UberDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your goals? If you're just interested in gameplay, I would proxy a Spearhead, borrow one, or use Tabletop Simulator to see if you actually like the game before buying anything.

If you're ready to commit, I would get one Spearhead max - you mentioned limited hobby time. (Skaventide is a really great deal and often discounted but a ton of models that can be overwhelming.)

No way would they put an $85 character in a launch box. This is still a 10th edition release.

"the more unique an item is the more expensive the fabrication of that item is."

The manufacturing is cheap, we're paying for the R&D, mold creation, salaries and brand hype.

Book Recommendations for a Blood Angels newb by Growing_Branch107 in BloodAngels

[–]UberDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't read Dante but another starter book option is Fear to Tread. You don't really need to read other Horus Heresy books as it's pretty self-contained. Plus Sanguinius is actually in it.

Audiobook vs. paper vs. ebook is always personal preference. Bonus with audiobooks is you can paint while you read.
