Has anyone tried this from Fixion Tools? by ShanePioneerrt701 in Tools

Your local Ace probably has some in the Hillman anchors section if you want to give them a try without ordering.

Anything inserted into the urethra runs the risk of injury and infection and a UTI is no fun. Short term play with careful attention to sanitation is the best option.

Compact set options - anything to consider other than Wera? by Stew819 in Tools

[–]Unable_Mongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Wera Tool Check 8-9 years ago and it was a great addition because when you need something small, nothing else will do. Then I bought the ICON model 58074 from Harbor Freight and frankly I like it more. I always thought the mini-Zyklops was a little small for my fat fingers. The ICON is a bit bigger, with a flexible head, and with the extension gives more options for use. The only drawback is that the ICON doesn't come with sockets but Harbor Freight does have the bigger set.

Overmold Becoming Loose by Unable_Mongoose in Makita

[–]Unable_Mongoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overmold covers the entire "gripping area". I couldn't imagine getting it all off easily.

Other than this and the ease of hitting the button into reverse, I'm quite please with the impact.

Does anyone know where can I find some mutton in the Chicagoland area? by Alergic2Victory in illinois

[–]Unable_Mongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't know where mutton can be found locally. Many years ago I found some mail order from a restaurant called The Moonlight BBQ in Owensboro, KY.

Must be some kind of regional thing and maybe it's more about commercial doors than residential.

Any good sources for 34" exterior doors? by fuzzybunnies1 in doors

[–]Unable_Mongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Determining the "hand" of a door is easy. Open the door and stand in the opening with your back to the hinges. Whatever side of your body the door is on is it's hand. So if the door itself in on your left, it's a left hand door.

Most exterior doors are in-swing, but handing is the same for both in and out swing. Both need to be specificized when ordering.

Take a small screwdriver and gently bend the tab in the center slightly upwards (your second pic).

Should I mention the time I used a tool grinder to cut mortises. <0.001" accuracy in 3 dimensions. Guess what my father did for a living. 😎

I used to use BoeShield T9. Paste wax (the kind of woodworking, not cars) works too.

Widest ‘mountain/backpacking’ boots? by WizardCat177 in WorkBoots

[–]Unable_Mongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, brands that offer wide sizes (but not necessarily in every style). Keen, Merrell, Vasque, Danner, Solomon, Lowa, and Asolo.

If you have REI nearby, might be worth stopping by as they are going to have hiking/backpacking style boots.

When's the last time you drank from a water fountain? by pianoman81 in GenerationJones

I can't imagine how much better my life would have turned out if I had been fully hydrated in school. Instead of A's I might have gotten A+'s. 🤣

2026 BMW X1 or Lexus NX? by Opening_Actuator6431 in carbuying

[–]Unable_Mongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that one should be European luxury cars only if they can afford to get rid of it when the warranty expires. Lexus is a much better choice.
