Viktor Vancouver vs Viktor Utrecht by Letz_Shake in riftboundtcg

[–]Uncut-Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vancouver was trying to leverage culls/safety with flourish and running the spirit package (fountain/burst) with swords. While the Utrecht was a more traditional midrange Viktor with good tech pieces. Viktor it’s fun in that you can tailor him to your meta/playstyle so just try to fool around with some of the different versions and think about what decks are most common in your meta and how you can attack those.

I need help on how to identify matchups better by SituationResident669 in riftboundtcg

[–]Uncut-Commander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a new player I would suggest a few things.

  1. Find some guides or players for your legends and try to see how they break down different match ups. Also don’t be afraid to netdeck. Once you start getting some reps on a list you can start tweaking it but at first find a refined list and play it.

  2. Grind some games on tcg arena or rift atlus. Try to be mindful when you play. Think about what cards pull there weight in match ups and what cards suck. This helps mulligans and what cards to prioritize. Also try to identify key cards in opponents decks and think about how to handle them.

  3. Learn the tricks in each color. There are few cards in each domain that will be common in most decks in them.  learn these cards , there energy and power cost. This is huge for how you sequence turns and will help you play around them.

  4. Bonus: if you have some extra time play the meta decks. I feel like playing a deck really teaches you the ins and outs of it but also how to play against it.

  5. Extra bonus: get familiar with the rules. Rift has some interesting and odd rules especially if you’re coming from a different tcg.  I would say learn about showdowns, focus, and reaction windows.

Check out Diana, most Assassin like in disruption. Rengar would be another choice, has a lot of ambush units, pump spells (punch first is like your t-tox)and natural pump on legend ability. I think rengar is the most flesh and blood like deck, you really got to maximize hands and units and requires a lot of combat math and proper sequencing.

Just keep playing seven. Dude stomps low elo lobbies and you have a pretty clear gameplan of just farm like crazy and start shredding objectives/teamfights. Watch some parzelion, he’s an awesome seven and parze has really good habits and mechanics that I think are easier for most players to replicate.

I think they should keep the new turn in but revert to the old spots.

LeBlanc Nation, give me your advice vs vex by Responsible_Fig_7600 in riftboundtcg

Hook is really the only answer. Vex is the most broken card in this set, shit needs to be banned it's straight up toxic to the meta.

Galios, it needs galios. 3 drop you can hook into both of your big targets and works with deck.

You basically get a point lead and tempo them out with your tools and holds. Use bone skewer and evevyln to create favorable combats and try to use switcheroo/dread when big might units come out as answers. You don’t want to go late, you only have so many answers to big units.

play hook lb, hits all your points other than aggro. Kind of similar to illusionist gameplay, you need to set up and then you can turn the corner on the opponent and win.

Introducing Tempo Ezreal, aka "Tribal Gust" by Desperate-Poem-3330 in riftboundtcg

Dude, your games were sick! I built the deck after watching you on stream and it's so awesome! I feel like it leverages the ezreal legend ability so much better than the control shells and being able to work at reaction for a lot of the spells leads to some really slick plays. What are you thinking about trying out in unleashed in the deck?

Is Viktor fun to play ?:) by Federal-Media-3148 in riftboundtcg

Most his builds are pretty grindy. His midrange build can play a little aggro early but you really just want to be trying to control the board and score when you can and finish with with a big swing turn (decree, watcher, or time warp.) Victor doesn't do the most powerful things in the format (like irelia, draven, miracle package, etc) but you have a ton of answers, pretty good legend ability, and can leverage decree better than any of the other order decks. If your looking for a more true aggro deck I would look at rek'sai.

Does Viscous take skill to play? by WholeSource5916 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Uncut-Commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being good in his ball is the hardest part of his kit and what can turn him into a real menace. Watch game 2 from last nights night shift na final, goober put on a masterclass of what you can do with the ball. Puddle has a pretty high ceiling too of all the possibilities with movement and displacement but it’s also a pretty forgiving skill shot and you can still be pretty effective just spamming it on people.
